What If Time Is Not a Straight Line?
Past, Present and Future all exist at the same TIME?
I came across an intriguing thought about quantum physics and the nature of time.
Quantum physics is crazy because what do you mean that the past, present and future all exist at the same time and what if the reason you desire certain things so deeply is because they're already yours at some point in your timeline?
What if those desires are not just wants, but previews from your future self nudging you to make the right choices to manifest your reality?
I came across it in an Instagram post. I'm not sharing the user name because I saw the same article across many platforms. So I'm not sure about the origin
This makes me wonder and wonder: Perhaps the most compelling question isn't whether the future is calling us, but whether some part of us recognises a possibility long before we know how to make it real????
Crazy, isn't it!
Have you watched The Big Bang Theory? Not the actual event, of course. I mean the drama series!
Having watched Sheldon Cooper, the protagonist, go on and on about physics, particularly quantum physics, and the mysteries of the universe, I eventually moved on to the prequel Young Sheldon. And, of course, I watched that too. I came across the idea of quantum physics through these shows. Well, I already knew a little about it, but watching the series made me want to read more about it.
I vividly remember the episode in which Sheldon is studying in Germany and Mei-Tung Chen comes to his home to tutor him. (Well, I don't remember it clearly; I had to rewatch that part.) There she is, correcting his understanding of string theory, challenging his calculations, and reminding him of the dimensions he has overlooked, including the dimension of time. The very Sheldon Cooper, who seems to know everything, is being taught a lesson by someone else! That was the funny part. But the real point I am trying to make is about the nature of time.
Okay, enough of my Sheldon Cooper referencs. But seriously, isn't it fascinating to think about???
Thinking: What if the past, present, and future are not quite as separate as we experience them?
What if some of the possibilities we long for are actually already part of a timeline we cannot yet see?
Oh man. That is just mad. That gives rise to another question or thought...
We both do and don't have freedom of will at all time and time is just a construct to measure which way perpetual motion made you chose to step...
One of the least understood aspects of physics is time. It is well known that the fundamental laws of physics do not discriminate between the two orientations of time, i.e. the fundamental laws work equally well towards the future and towards the past. There are a few contemporary physicists who think that the accepted description of the universe is incomplete because there is no passage (or ‘flow’) of time in physics, i.e. the present moment continually ‘advancing towards’ the future. These physicists believe that everyday experience and intuitions about time (such as its passage) ought to be reflected in our physical theories.
source
That gives rise to another speculation...
Every possible outcome of every choice you make actually happens - it just splits into a parallel timeline. And the one you end up in is the one you already expect to land in.
Which means if you want to quantum leap, you don't force an outcome. You change what you expect!!!
This is so mind-boggling! And of course, these claim that your expectations determine which timeline you experience, however, is speculative, not an established part of quantum physics. Nothing has been proven as such, or perhaps we simply don't understand enough yet. It seems weird to us because the (perceived) reality we live in has wired our brains to conceive things in a certain way, and these ideas just don't make sense to us.
And here is where the power of manifestation comes into play. We call it prayer, yes, and that's true. You have to manifest. This is relatively a new concept. I think it's an old ideology. I think one should ask for unbelievable things, and the universe will meet you at your point of audacity. You have to have that desire within you. But that doesn't guarantee the outcome.
I have experienced this power of manifestation firsthand, but only a few times. Only when I wanted something with that burning desire and energy... Otherwise, I don't have the energy to pursue everything I desire to that extent. One can only want certain things with that level of intensity. You can sprint in a race for a short period of time, but you cannot keep running with extreme power all the time at a higher level. Because that requires ENERGY. A hell of a lot of energy!
Energy... The very thing that everything that exists is made up of. You want something, and you spend and overspend that energy on wanting it. You think about it, dream about it, imagine what it would feel like to have it, and sometimes, without even realising it, you pour so much of yourself into that one desire that it begins to consume you.
Have you ever wondered why, at some point, you stop desiring something with the same intensity? Perhaps you have simply burnt out. And then, you never desire anything that deeply again.
We, in both our physical and spiritual beings, are made up of energy, aren't we? And it's up to us how we channel and consume that energy. There is always a choice. But the heart wants what it wants. And perhaps that is what determines our fate, the different outcomes, our successes, and our failures.
Maybe there is a difference between desperately wanting something and being so deeply connected to that desire that we can hold on to it without letting it drain us. In the process, we end up ruthlessly burning through that energy, eventually burning ourselves out.
But perhaps that, too, was part of the course. Maybe those little snippets from the future were never meant to be a promise of what was to come, but rather a nudge, forcing us to make certain choices, take certain paths, and become certain versions of ourselves. Maybe the desire was never really about possessing what we wanted, but about who we would become in the process of chasing it.
Your consciousness may be able to jump through time, physicists suggest that what we call "gut feelings" could actually be memories echoing back from the future.
Or perhaps I'm just overthinking this whole thing again.
I don't know how to stop thinking about it, or how this keeps boggling my mind and turning into an endless loop. But yeah, these speculations are so interesting. And there seems to be at least some truth to them.
Maybe the house you are living in... You don't see the ghosts, sometimes, but perhaps they are people, or even animals, going about their lives in the past or the future. Maybe we are simply living in our own timelines, oblivious to the existence of others.
THINK ABOUT IT
What If We Are the Ghosts in Someone Else's Timeline?
I’m sure @ty-ty will have a few things to say on the subject. Well… quite a lot, actually. He finds the subject of time just as fascinating as you do.
I, for one, find it astonishing that I never have enough of it. Time is always in short supply. That seems to be lost on your motif, but only at first glance. I WANT time to be as linear as we experience it. My slightly compulsive nature would go haywire if time were a chaotic non-system in which we simply drifted along. I NEED routines, deadlines and appointments so that I don’t lose my way.
So I can’t really go along with your thoughts, even though my rational mind tells me that we drastically simplify a great deal in our perception.
I’ve never had a gut feeling that felt more like a memory. I don’t think so, anyway. But I have had vivid memories that turned out to be accounts from other people...
I can understand that!
What you (us) experience is : Conscious experience of the passage of time.
But you know what I find interesting? There are physicists who believe that our everyday experience of time, including the feeling that it actually passes, should be reflected in our theories about the universe. One of them is George Ellis, a cosmologist who developed something called the Evolving Block Universe model. EBU. So, unlike the idea that the past, present, and future all exist together in one complete block, this model suggests that reality itself keeps growing as time moves forward. Of course, it's a theoretical model, and it has its own scientific challenges.
What if our perception of time isn't entirely wrong, but simply incomplete? What if there's more to the nature of time than what we experience in our everyday lives? I don't claim to understand the physics behind all this, but I love exploring these possibilities and seeing how they challenge the way we ordinarily think.
What if our perception is only a simplified version of something much more complicated???
And now you've made me curious about those memories! How can you remember something so vividly, only to discover that it was actually someone else's experience? Did you hear their story and later mistake it for your own memory, or was it something else entirely? Because that's the sort of thing that would send my mind down another endless rabbit hole, arghh.
Let us put speculation aside for a moment and give some thought to the following question: What might ‘time’ mean to God / Allah? Could we reasonably assume that He is subject to time? And if not – what does that mean for us and our relationship with the past and the future? I am not asking here about knowledge, but about faith.

I was expecting this question...
The Qur'an describes Allah as Al-Awwal (The First) wa Al-Aakhir (The Last) (57:3, but it does not explicitly define His relationship with time in the language of modern physics. It is better to present the idea that Allah is the Creator of time as a theological understanding, rather than claim that we can explain His existence outside time in precise terms.
Allah/ God created time, but we experience existence through time.
Whether we can meaningfully imagine what existence without time would be like is another matter altogether.
If Allah is not subject to time (which is the case) as we are, then the past, present, and future are not separate in His relationship with His creation in the way they are for us. We remember the past, inhabit the present, and anticipate the future. We can regret yesterday and worry about tomorrow, but neither is something we can physically return to or enter before it arrives.
Allah, however, does not acquire knowledge of tomorrow by waiting for it to become today. His knowledge is not a process of discovery. The Qur'an repeatedly reminds us that Allah knows what has passed and what is yet to come.

This is seductive, but I dare to deny it.
In my opinion (very humble opinion), it's mankind who created time. And after having created time, one can no longer imagine that time must have been before that.
By the way, I confirm this sentence:
This idea is to be regarded as a hint, not as the truth. In this way it can fulfill its purpose.
I’ll give it a go… ;-)) You know, that I had a rather strange upbringing. The thing is, I have absolutely no memory of a period of my childhood – just under three years. That gap… I know there must be something there that I’m repressing. For a while, it really got to me and I tried all sorts of things to access those memories: depth psychology, exposure therapy, and even hypnosis. Under hypnosis, drawing on snippets of genuine memories, I recalled things that had either been told to me by others (my grandparents or neighbours) about myself, or that I’d simply read. Read in the incredible number of books I devoured as a child. These experiences obviously seem just as real in my memory as things I’ve experienced myself...
It’s incredible how our minds work, isn’t it? The fact that things we’ve read or heard can become so intertwined with our own memories is fascinating.
I remember you were writing autobiography ... Did you complete it while I was away? I remember some of the details... Your
storyautobiography about having to become a different person every few months, learning new names and inventing different family backgrounds, makes me wonder how much a childhood like that can affect one's sense of identity. That must have been a very unsettling experience...0.00 SBD,

No, I regard this to be an error.
As far as I've understood of such things there is no time as an objective fact.
Time is a concept of humans, and it is a 'transcendential' one, that means: beyond sensitive experience.
Time is like a vessel or a framework within which we perceive and experience the world.
But what is the world outside our consciousnesses?
We don't know. We never will. It is impossible.
Quantum physics is contra-intuitive. But nevertheless it deals with phaenomena within the world.
The assumed Being itself is not touched by science. It is no 'world behind the world' as if we were Alices inside a hall or mirrors and 'behind' the mirrors faced with some others.
Wonder is the beginning of philosophy, not philosophy itself.
I suppose the fascinating part is that the more we learn about the universe, the more questions seem to arise. Science helps us explore what we can observe, while philosophy takes us to the boundaries of what we can know. Perhaps we don't need to find all the answers to appreciate the mystery.
The reality doesn’t necessarily have to make sense to our intuition to be real. It challenges not only what we know about the universe, but also the limits of how we understand it.

Very true!
This exactly describes the universe of Parmenides.
Remember him riding to and through the gates of time.
So time isn’t a road we travel, but a landscape that already exists. That makes Parmenides even more fascinating!

A question for anyone reading: Have you ever had a gut feeling that felt less like a guess and more like a memory?
I've had many intuitions (as I like to call these 'gut feelings'), and one of them I remember saved me from death.
It was as if someone stopped me to do what I had in mind, and in retrospection, the question arose: was that my future self?
But this is very high speculative and therefore nothing to build knowledge upon.
That's very interesting... Perhaps intuition is one of those mysteries where science, consciousness, and our perception of time leave us with more questions than answers!
Fascinating! And for one, I’m really happy it happened. Else, how would we have these conversations? ;))))

Maybe you would have better ones, I cannot exclude this possibility.
I tried to point out that we have NO perception of time.
We have perception of events, and our consciousness tries to order them in before and after, thus generating what we call time. Time itself cannot be perceived. You can watch the clock or something else that is moving or changing. The concept of time serves as the bottle and is not to be intermingled with the content inside the bottle. As we cannot see the air in which we live, we cannot perceive the time in which things happen.

Forget about the clock. You can count your heart beats! I mean to say that even if you are in a dark room oblivious to the outside world, even then you would have some sense of passing of time. It will definitely be disoriented, distorted and somewhat blurry but you would know that we are passing through the time!

Yes. But no perception of it. What we perceive are events.
Time is the abstract that remains if we subtract all events.
Let me give you a comparison:
If you have 3 apples and abstract from these objects, you come to the concept of 3 and of numbers themselves. The 3 is not perceivable.

Well in that sense, nothing can be perceived!
But I get what you are saying!!!

Going beyond the goal can be interesting and informative / instructive.
After that, one should aim anew at the goal.
