What can I say? Maybe he’s got something to hide, or perhaps he’s just glancing sideways in the mirror whilst painting himself. I wonder if he finds himself attractive this way.
Maybe it doesn’t matter to him and it is a left behind message, there’s definitely something going on. I’ll just put it down to the fact that he’s been caught out by his wife or planned het murder.

You mean he is the painter himself? He must be really talented. There's a lot to wonder about his work, is he well-known? Did you read something about him that made you see that expression that way? ( the murder part)
