Boss Zhao os a bit creepy but also one to pity, that is he might years ago, just not today and not in that world.

You completely nailed it with Boss Zhao! He is definitely a tragic product of this dystopian world—whatever humanity or pity he deserved was swallowed up by the harsh reality a long time ago. I'm thrilled that his character left an impression on you.
