Qonağa ən gözəl hədiyyə: Şah plov
Azərbaycanda qonaq gələndə süfrənin tacı çox vaxt Şah plov olur. Bu plovun sirri onun qızılı qabığındadır. In Azerbaijan, when guests arrive, the crown of the table is very often Shah Plov. The secret of this plov lies in its golden crust. The inside of the pot is lined with thin, buttered lavash, and saffron rice, browned lamb, chestnuts, dried apricots, raisins and plenty of butter are arranged in layers. Then the edges of the lavash are folded over the top, and the plov cooks slowly until the crust turns golden and crisp.
The most beloved moment happens at the table. The host turns the golden plov out onto a platter, cuts its "crown" right before the guests' eyes, and fragrant steam rises from inside.
