A Mayor for one week

Hello my dear Steemians,

 

I am a mayor of my town

 

When I was a child I loved to be a mayor of my city, there were only positive side of that and of course as children we never think about negative side of such important role.

What I liked that time were:

• I would have a big office with computer

• my own secretary who will prepare me tea or coffee and of course some biscuits or cake

• I would have my own chauffeur and a business car, that will bring me anywhere

• I will make rules and everyone will follow

Of course with time, I grown up and realising that there are of course good side but there are also more responsibilities and commitments in front of the people who live in my town.

Therefore, although I would be happy to be a mayor for a week, I would have many things to do and would be much more busier than now.

So let’s go and start thinking what should I do?

 

Clean town, happy people

 

• Penalty for throwing garbage, people should learn to clean after themselves. As penlty not only money to be paid to state but also to work certain hours cleaning the streets

I do not know what is for me, but for me the most frustrating thing that I see around in my town is garbage. When it is autumn all green bushes, trees become empty, the leaves fallen down and exposing us the garbage that people disposed under the trees and also in bushes. I hate to see how sometimes adults with their children while walking they just through on the ground something. Like just two days ago, I was on High street and one man bought a hoody in shop had it on a hanger and he took it off but thrown away the hanger on the ground without paying attention that it is High Street and there are the trash bins scattered across.

• I would pay to the people who work as Garbage Cleaners

The salary of cleaners should be high because of that dirty and hard work to keep the streets of city clean. These people start working in early morning and have contact to the dirty bins, there is always a risk of infection and also horrible smell. We have to be grateful for people who do this hard wok and as appreciation I would increase their salary.

 

• Mobilise the schools for clean beach and protect sea life

As a Mayor I also would organise the action like cleaning beaches in my city, maybe every two-three months to give children a day off and call them and their parents to come together for cleaning. From my side as a Mayor I would organise free food and drink for everyone but also tents where people could have some rest. I would spend certain money from city budget for that. I also would encourage everyone to follow their example and also to spread that news to keep our streets and beaches clean.

• Encourage separate garbage and help recycling systems

 

You know that everything in our life had something that we can recycle, that is also papers like magazines, books, cardboard, that is all paper that could be used again.

When we think about water, juices, drinks they are all in plastic bottles, there are enormous numbers of plastic bottles that we could collect and bring to those garbage separator so that later on it is easy to recycle on special recycling places.

There are some glasses that also need to be brought to certain bin instead of breaking them or just leaving them somewhere.

I also would encourage any businesses to introduce separation of garbage and help recycling. To install the machines that will accept plastic bottles, cans or glasses back for deposit that is already works very well in some countries but not in our.

There are many other things that I wanted to change, but also I would probably will require good team who wil have same vision like me and then my city will be clean and have happy citizens.
