Achievement 4: Applying Markdown

Introduction

My name is Precious. I am a new member of Steemit, and this is my Achievement 4 task.

In this achievement, I will demonstrate my understanding of Markdown formatting and how it can be used to make a Steemit post neat, organized and easy to read.

What is Markdown?

Markdown is a simple formatting language used to style text. It allows us to create headings, bold text, italic text, links, lists, quotes and other formats.

1. Headings

Markdown uses the # symbol to create headings.

Heading 1

Heading 2

Heading 3

Heading 4

2. Bold Text

To make text bold, we use two asterisks on both sides.
Example:
This is bold text

3. Italic Text

To make text italic, we use one asterisk on both sides.
Example:
This is italic text

4. Bold and Italic Text

We can combine bold and italic formatting.
Example:
This is bold and italic text

5. Lists

##Unordered List

Learning something new becomes easier when we practice it regularly.

Markdown can also be used to create links.
