SteemDB: The Rebuilt Explorer Is Now Live
Date: 2026-10-24
Site: https://steemdb.io
After nearly ten months of development and testing since the start of this year, the fully rebuilt SteemDB is now live at https://steemdb.io.
What's new
- A complete redesign. SteemDB has been rebuilt from the ground up — a brand-new interface and an entirely new backend. This is not an incremental upgrade of the old site: every part of the stack was rewritten and re-architected.
- Core data rebuilt in full. The core dataset was re-ingested from the beginning of the chain, so the data you browse — blocks, transactions, accounts, posts, and their operations — comes from a complete, consistent dataset rather than a partial migration.
Known issues
Some aggregated data (derived statistics and metrics) is still being reconciled and may be inaccurate in places. We are actively working through these; if a specific number looks wrong, the underlying per-block / per-account / per-post data is the source of truth in the meantime.
What's next
Fixes for the remaining aggregate-data issues will roll out as they are completed. If you spot something broken or missing, please report it at https://github.com/steemit/steemdb/issues.
Thank you for your patience and support over the past ten months — SteemDB is back, and it's built to last.
Good job !!!

Upvoted! Thank you for supporting witness @jswit.
We run a Graphene chain called MELEK — same family as Steem — and we put all of our witness documentation up in public, free, no account needed. It is called Witness School:
Witness School — https://witness.melek.salon
It covers how a Graphene chain is actually built (the constants that define one — symbol, address prefix, the sha256 chain id, initminer, the witness set, inflation), how to build and register a witness node, the token standards, and a comparison of HIVE, STEEM, BLURT and MELEK on consensus, block time, downvotes, fees and the author/curator split.
If you already run a witness on Steem, most of it will be familiar — that is the point. It is written down so the next person does not have to work it out from source.
Ten months is a solid chunk of time for a complete rewrite. Hope the remaining aggregate stats sync up smoothly without giving you too many headaches.
