MEANS TO PLEASE GOD

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."
Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

The emphasis in this chapter is about faith which is simply stated that without it, it is impossible to walk with God and please Him.

This is the reason why being born-again or being a disciple of Christ Jesus is not about religion. It is not about following some rules and regulations that are rigidly formed which if you did not do them this or that will happen to you.

However, it is more about having a communion or fellowship with God. It is a relationship and friendship so to speak.

When you get to understand God, how He does things—what He does want, how He does want things to be—you will not see God as a distant God. You will see God with being with you all the time.
His tangible presence or aura would be with you, which can be felt. This would not be unreal and those who are spiritually inclined and sensitive, who come around you, would be able to attest to it. It would not be a vague something.

If a believer's walking with God has not gotten to this level, the level expatiated here, such a person's faith would still be shallow and shaky.

Note:

a. Being a believer in Christ, or a disciple, is not about rigidly observing some regulations and laws; rather, it is about having a communion or fellowship with God.

WHEN the communion or fellowship is solidly built, your faith and trust in God would have been developed or grown.

b. Also, being a believer is not mainly about rigidly following some church or denomination tenets of faith.

SOMEONE can rigidly follow the rules and regulations and laws and tenets of faith of a particular denomination and still not have a practical relationship and fellowship with God.

However, being a believer or disciple is all about having a communion with God—having a rapport with Him.

Attending church meetings or programmes is not about walking with God. You might be neck-deep or deeply involved in the church activities, yet, you might not have a personal relationship with God.

The church activities are meant to be a means through which you build a good and solid relationship and fellowship with God. They are not an end, but a means to an end, and the end in question is your relationship and fellowshipping with God.

If your activities in the church or ministry you belong did not result in having a strong relationship and communion with God, the purpose of those activities is defeated.

Although, the church might not know that the purpose is defeated, as long that you are faithfully serving in the church, they would think you are doing great. But in God's sight, what those activities should bring forth or produce in your life is not being produced—your communion and intimacy with Him, God.

When you have good communion with God, your faith would be strong and active like the faith of those listed in this chapter 11 of the Book of Hebrews. Thus, endeavour to build your fellowship or communion with God. It is done through the knowledge of the word of God and conversational prayer.

Peace.
