A day in the life : Day 677

I spent some time today reading about the growing interest in AI-powered browsers. It seems the browser is slowly becoming more than a place to open websites. Some of these newer tools can understand what is on a page, find information, compare things and help complete simple tasks. I think that is an interesting direction because the browser is already where most of our online work happens.

My own browser caused a much smaller problem today.

I had about ten tabs open for different things I wanted to check later. At some point I closed the wrong window and lost half of them. I stared at the screen for a few seconds trying to remember what I had been doing.

Luckily, none of it was important.

Instead of trying to recreate everything, I decided to leave it alone and start fresh. That actually felt better. Sometimes keeping too many unfinished things open makes the day feel busier than it really is.

The weather has been warm during the day, but the evenings are getting more comfortable. The seasonal change is slowly becoming noticeable. I have also been keeping dinner fairly light and drinking more water, especially after spending time outside.

Later, I read about how AI tools are being designed to remember context for longer periods. That could make them much more useful, especially for projects that continue for weeks instead of ending after one question. At the same time, I think people will have to become more careful about what they allow these systems to remember.

The rest of the evening was quiet. I closed the unnecessary tabs, cleaned up a few things and stopped trying to make tomorrow's work look perfectly organised.

Today reminded me that sometimes starting with a clean screen is better than trying to recover everything from yesterday.

The lost tabs were not important after all.
