A day in the life : Day 671
I saw some interesting discussion today about how AI is becoming part of everyday search. Instead of simply giving a list of websites, newer AI tools are trying to understand the question, compare information and give a direct answer. I still prefer checking the original information when something matters, but for ordinary questions this can save quite a bit of time.
My own little problem today was with a grocery delivery. I had ordered a few basic things and noticed one item was missing when the bag arrived. I checked the receipt twice before realising that I had actually forgotten to add it to the order.
So there was nobody to blame. The mistake was sitting right there on the screen.
I added it to the next order and carried on. It reminded me how often small problems become annoying because we immediately assume something went wrong somewhere else.
The weather has been fairly warm during the day, but the evenings are becoming more comfortable. There is still some humidity around, though it does not feel as heavy as before. I have also been eating a little lighter lately. A simple meal feels better than sitting down to something heavy at night.
I spent part of the afternoon clearing some old files from my phone. I found screenshots of things that seemed important at the time but were completely useless now. There were also several duplicate photographs. I deleted a few hundred files without missing any of them.
That felt surprisingly satisfying.
The evening has been quiet. I got the small errands done, cleaned up some digital clutter and read for a while.
Nothing dramatic happened today. That is probably a good thing.
Some days are useful simply because they pass without creating another problem.
