A day in the life : Day 670

I spent some time reading about the latest AI developments today, and one thing that stood out was how much attention is moving toward AI agents. The conversation is less about making a chatbot answer questions and more about getting an AI system to complete a series of tasks. Search for information, compare it, organise the results and then prepare something useful. It sounds simple when explained that way, but making it reliable is clearly the difficult part.

I had my own small task problem today. I decided to clean up some old paperwork and started sorting everything into different piles. After about fifteen minutes, I realised I had created more piles than I needed.

There was a pile for things to keep, one for things to check, one for old receipts, one for things I might need later and then another pile that I could not decide about.

Eventually I stopped overthinking it. Most of the undecided papers went into the recycling bin. The important documents went into one folder. Much better.

The weather was warm today, but the afternoon stayed fairly pleasant. The monsoon seems to be moving away slowly. There is still some humidity, but the evenings feel easier now. I kept lunch simple and had a light dinner.

I also noticed that I have been spending less time watching random short videos lately. Instead, I have been reading longer articles and watching a few things that I actually planned to watch. It feels like a small improvement.

The evening was quiet. I finished sorting the paperwork, cleaned the desk and spent some time reading.

The funny thing is that the paperwork was never really the problem. The problem was that I kept trying to create a perfect system for a small pile of papers.

Sometimes the simplest solution is simply to finish the job and move on.
