A day in the life : Day 666
I came across an interesting bit of news today about AI moving further into personal devices. More phone makers are trying to run AI features directly on the device instead of sending every request to a remote server. I like this direction because it can make simple features faster and can also reduce the amount of personal information travelling around. We will probably see much more of this over the next few years.
There is also growing interest in AI agents that can actually perform tasks. The technology is moving beyond answering questions and toward things like organising information, handling routine work and interacting with different services. The difficult part is still reliability. Nobody wants an assistant confidently doing the wrong thing.
My own problem today was much more ordinary. I had planned to clean one particular shelf and found an old box that I had completely forgotten about. Naturally, I opened it instead of continuing with the cleaning. Inside were cables, an old phone accessory and several things I had kept because I thought I might need them someday.
I could not remember the last time I needed any of them.
I threw most of it away and kept two useful cables. The shelf is finally less crowded.
The weather was warm today, but the rain stayed away. The monsoon seems to be slowly giving way to clearer days. I had a simple lunch and made a light dinner. It felt better than eating something heavy late in the evening.
I also spent some time reading about the growing demand for AI chips. It is interesting how many industries are now connected to this trend. Semiconductor companies, data centres, electricity providers and networking companies are all becoming part of the same larger story.
The evening was quiet. I cleaned the shelf, cleared some old junk and spent a little time reading.
Nothing spectacular happened today, but I did manage to remove things I had been keeping for no good reason.
That is probably enough progress for one day.
