What do you use instead of Spotify?

I’ve been trying to reduce my reliance on algorithm-driven apps and constant streaming services, especially for music.

Spotify has been kinda convenient, but I don’t really like how much control the algorithm has over what I end up listening to. I’ve been curious what others here do instead.

Do you:

use radio (online or traditional)?

build local/offline libraries?

use something more curated or intentional?

go back to vinyl, downloads, or mixes?

I’m mostly interested in how people here handle music in a more intentional or low-noise way without defaulting to Spotify-style recommendations.

Would love to hear what’s worked for you.

I shifted to offline downloads and a few curated stations, but lately I have been using musen instead. It feels like radio that actually knows my taste without shoving algorithms at me, just a continuous stream that adapts. No playlists needed, and I can even send a picture of my mood to shape what plays.

I build my own music library from downloads and radio. No algorithms, just what I choose to play.
