2026 Morgan Midsummer Coupé — A Modern Coachbuilt Masterpiece
The Morgan Midsummer Coupé is one of the most exclusive and striking vehicles to emerge from the British marque in recent years. Unveiled as a highly limited coachbuilt special, the Midsummer Coupé represents a marriage of Morgan's century-old craftsmanship with contemporary design and modern engineering.
A Collaboration with Pininfarina
Developed in collaboration with the legendary Italian design house Pininfarina, the Midsummer Coupé is a fixed-head evolution of the open-top Midsummer barchetta. Rather than simply adding a roof, Morgan and Pininfarina completely reworked the proportions, creating a sleek, flowing coupé silhouette while retaining the unmistakable Morgan character.
Key highlights of the design include:
- Hand-formed aluminium body panels built in true coachbuilt tradition
- Distinctive glazed roof that bathes the cabin in natural light
- Intricately designed forged 19-inch wheels
- Carefully crafted teak interior trim
Modern Performance Beneath Classic Lines
Under the bonnet lies BMW's proven B58 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six engine, producing around 335–402 hp depending on specification. Paired with a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, the Midsummer Coupé delivers brisk performance while remaining composed on long-distance drives.
Powerful yet lightweight thanks to its bonded aluminium construction, the Midsummer Coupé is only around 2.5% heavier than Morgan's Supersport hardtop, ensuring the nimble, engaging driving experience the marque is known for.
Extreme Exclusivity
Just nine customer commissions will be built, in addition to the prototype "artists' proof". Each car is developed in close collaboration with its owner, allowing for extensive personalisation of colours, leathers, wood finishes and other bespoke details. This makes every Midsummer Coupé a true one-of-a-kind creation.
A Milestone for Morgan
The Midsummer Coupé showcases how Morgan continues to evolve while staying true to its roots. By blending traditional coachbuilding techniques with cutting-edge structural engineering and world-class design, it represents a bold step forward for the Malvern-based manufacturer.
