I found the section about Unicode characters particularly useful. I used to think these styles were simply different fonts, but the distinction makes more sense when you explain that the characters themselves can be copied and pasted.
I was looking at a few similar tools while learning about this and came across this one as well:

It has quite a few different styles, so it was useful for comparing how cursive, bold, gothic and spaced characters actually appear on different platforms. I agree that checking readability and compatibility is important, especially for gaming usernames.
