The Steem Virtual Machine (SVM) Testnet has achieved a significant operational milestone. Currently, all 11 validators in the registered active validator set are online, actively participating in consensus and oracle duties.

The network is maintaining stable performance during continuous operation, and the v0.0.4.x architecture is functioning reliably.

Network Health and Current Metrics

MetricCurrent Status
Total Transactions41,832+
Average Block Time~5.3 seconds
Active Validators11 / 11 (100% Online)

Full validator participation has further strengthened consensus stability and oracle data ingestion.

Validator Milestone: 100% Online

All 11 validators on the SVM Testnet are now fully online and actively:

  • Conducting consensus operations
  • Performing oracle duties
  • Participating in the network state
  • Processing price-feed data

This 100% validator uptime further strengthens the network's:

  • Decentralization
  • Fault tolerance
  • Consensus reliability
  • Oracle data availability

This milestone also highlights the effectiveness of automated recovery workflows. Various node operators have restored the network to full capacity by syncing nodes, performing binary updates, and unjailing validators.

Important Oracle Client Reminder

Validator operators are reminded once again to ensure the latest Oracle Client update has been applied.

The primary objective of this update is to prevent the Oracle client from repeatedly broadcasting rejected transactions if a validator gets jailed due to downtime in the future.

Benefits of the Oracle Update

If a validator is jailed, the Oracle will:

  • Pause broadcasting
  • Stop generating failed transactions
  • Reduce unnecessary gas fees
  • Minimize network spam and transaction noise

Once the validator becomes active again, the Oracle can automatically resume operations during the next voting period. ---

Go Oracle Update Commands

Update process for validator operators using the Go Oracle profile:

# 1. Pull the latest code changes
git pull

# 2. Stop the current Go oracle service
docker compose --profile go down

# 3. Pull the latest Docker images
docker pull
docker compose --profile go pull oracle-go

# 4. Restart the oracle-go service
docker compose --profile go up -d --no-deps oracle-go

This update is intended solely to improve the behavior of the Oracle service. Using the --no-deps flag ensures that other node dependencies do not need to be restarted unnecessarily.

Current SVM Infrastructure Status

The foundational components of the SVM Testnet are currently in a robust state:

  • 11/11 validators online
  • Stable consensus operations
  • Active oracle duties
  • Average block time ~5.3 seconds
  • Active fee-burn mechanism
  • Robust smart contract infrastructure
  • Oracle client spam-prevention update available
  • Automated validator recovery workflows operational

Looking Ahead: SVM App Public Beta

Network stability and full validator uptime are now laying a crucial foundation for the next phase of SVM App development.

The next milestone is the public beta release of the SVM App frontend.

The public beta will allow the broader community to easily interact with:

  • Sherpa Protocol liquidity pools
  • Token swaps
  • Lending features
  • Other SVM DeFi functionalities

The goal is to simplify usage of the SVM ecosystem through a clean, intuitive, and secure interface.

Overall Development Progress

SVM Testnet development has reached a critical stage:

Validator Recovery → 100% Validator Uptime → Oracle Optimization → Active Fee Burn → Smart Contracts → SVM App Public Beta

The network infrastructure is now in a stronger position, supported by full validator participation.

Testnet Disclaimer

SVM is currently in the testnet phase.

The bonded STEEM, transactions, and generated tokens used here are solely for testing consensus and the EVM execution layer. This chain or its assets have no real-world monetary value.
