RE: Application - Single Community Curator - Oct. 2026

in CCC • 8 days ago

Yes, I think to make a place more attractive for others we should make them to feel like their welcomed and not alone, only then people will come and stay, even like you noticed for short exchange of comment. Do you remember it was few years ago when we were chatting about the personal touch that we wanted to leave with automated banner of SCXX comment and I did it my task for every single comment that I left I left a little message, it is time consuming still it was great. I see that this is not done any other curator teams just you and @solperez. You, girls are very good team together, have the same way of thinking, you probably understand each other very well even being so far from each other.

Yes, I submitted my application, October month is one of the month when I have a little bit more time but as you say I am trying to be around when I am free :)

I do not believe distance matters, all we should is being on the same page. I was with those I curated with inTrue Colours and always asked why anyone wanted to join my team.

lt always felt I am the only one asking, for examples what to vote for. As soon as I did they backed off. Too lazy to find a creative post or comment.
If I look back at how easily people make teams just to be able to receive votes or give them to.... Frequently, I found it shameful how low those upvotes given were, without a reason.
Saying the post is extremely good but a vote for 0,45??? As if it had to be paid out of the own wallet.

I remember how many times we tried to leave comments everywhere and how it did lift many. Also the test with the bot. It truly made many happy and reply.
There are still Steemians remembering us, which does feel good.
I also noticed old Steemians return.

By the way, You always made a good team with @sduttaskitchen and the two of you do not live next door either. What counts is that the ones you work with can be trusted and do not cause you extra work and stress like a few did joining my team (they simply did not show up and lied about what to vote for).

Language or distance (time differences) are not the problem. I doubt it will help to set rules if it comes to voting, since no one will check it. Already the rules set by the Steemit Team were and are ignored by many. This next to the fact who decides what is good, quality or not?

I still believe, just like back then, that commenters should be rewarded more. It is the only way to make this a habit and make Steemit a happy, fun place to be.

Unlike you and me, not many curators will take into consideration if they have time, WiFi, their personal situation allows them to curate (some have to do it secretly!) before they apply.

That is true it is no matter where we are in which country, the only problem with countries is that if there is more 11 or 13 hours, like Indonesia and Venezuela, we noticed that when we were team of 5 curators. It is just the case when we would like to discuss something or if one is not able to curate due to some urgent issues or maybe power cut then it is difficult to communicate, so that is all technical issues and it was never a case of understanding between us, different country citizens.

What I actually enjoyed is that in the time when me and Sunita (@sduttaskitchen) and Francisco (@fjjrg) we have decided about the % of Upvote between us and also like you mentioned we could upvote good Comment with high %of Upvote. It was not dictated by Steemit Team and even when we were doing this kind of curation that was completely different from other Curators we were not criticised and users were happy and we enjoyed our curation. I think in a team all have to have the same idea and wish to support others, to discuss any issues without being blamed and only hten it will be good for users and in my opinion for the Steemit Team too. I am really missing my Quest Team curator team,.

For some reason curators like moderators seem to believe rules are set if it comes to the percentage of vote given, they simply do what others before them did as quickly as possible. It is my experience that even if the height of vote was dus issues and set, some team members still do their thing and ignore the rest or even the guidelines of the team.

I never had any issues with the timezones. @aneulpineung78 was in Indonesia and others were in Pakistan Nigeria or Venezuela.

With four of five it can be a bigger problem to vote in turn since the account also needs time to charge.

We have a group, leave messages behind and check the curatir account before we start. If there's no activity automatically the next one takes over. This is really not that hard. Harder is if always the same is absent and this person knew before he applied he cannot do the job because they do not have time, wifi or electricity.
I am sorry to say so, but if that is the case one should not apply. They do because of themselves, not because they like what they do, we had the same with wanting to be a moderator. It is not about welcoming and reading and leaving replies and tips but a method to be visible and grow asap by all means, using AI to comment included.

Like you know there are also months I don't apply. My time is too precious to be wasted.

I agree, working with the same team is better. The members know another, know they can count on another and what should be done without the endless explanations, questions, pulling back votes, checking who votes what, begging to let know whom to nominate and for what reason.
That is also for me a reason not let my team name be used by those who are not willing to search for art, creal creative content and comments. To me the name and guidelines stand for something. It is not just a name like with most teams.

Curating takes a lot of time so it should be fun and relaxing not stressful. It is a hobby and I offer my experiences and tips for free instead of being only focussed on my own growth.

Have an enjoyable day.
