Thank you, that is kind of you. Let's hope the creative ones are not given the final blow.

Steemit doesn't just need to distribute rewards across more publications. It needs to recognise what makes a community truly active: creativity, quality, participation, and meaningful connections between its members.

For example, the quality of a photographic publication cannot be evaluated using the same criteria as an opinion article or a literary work. Different forms of creativity deserve different approaches to curation.

According to my latest query to the Steemit API, only around 4,000 users have been active over the past 30 days. At this point, we have to recognise that Steemit has become a niche social network.

And this raises a fundamental question: how can we attract new users if we cannot adequately reward those who are already creating original content and keeping our communities alive?

Meaningful interaction matters, but so do rewards. People invest time, effort and creativity in their publications, and that contribution needs to be recognised.

Distributing small rewards to as many accounts as possible is not necessarily the same as building a sustainable community.

We need a curation model that values quality, encourages genuine engagement and provides meaningful incentives for both existing and new creators.

Otherwise, I genuinely fear that Steemit will continue losing its remaining active users until there is no community left to support. Cheers :)

I agree with you and of course, the rest you write.

So calculation is:
4000 active accounts per 300 days (active as in posting and commenting or? If auto voting or auto earnings receipt has been enabled an account als shows active!

4000 accounts * 5 posts a week / 30 days = 667 posts a day.

Many posts receive upvotes from bots, whales, steem witnesses next to that there are who only game or comment or the account shows active because they do autovoting.
Also curators skip a large part of the platform where mainly Asians post.

All AC accounts can easily upvote 667 posts if they all were quality, which they are by far not, which leaves room for uovoting comments and reward good comments and content better.

For example, the quality of a photographic publication cannot be evaluated using the same criteria as an opinion article or a literary work. Different forms of creativity deserve different approaches to curation.

True. What to think of art, a painting? This can rarely be made within an hour or a day. Not to mention the time it takes to show all steps, write the content and upload all those photos.
It is way easier to type a long epistel and add an AI generated picture.

You wrote a well-reasoned comment containing all the necessary information. I sincerely hope it will be read, but above all that something will change. Thank you for your comment.

Exactly. The equation should be simple: more STEEM + better distribution + more engagement = a stronger Steemit. Cheers :)

This BOOMING vote is yours and well deserved!

Thanks for stopping by :) I really appreciate the support :) Any steem remaining from this support will be reinvested in our community and used to fund another edition of the Moments in Focus Photography Contest.

This way, the support we receive continues to circulate within the community, creating new opportunities for photographers to participate, share their work, and be rewarded. Cheers :)
