One thing I worry about memory loss is not able to remember the usernames, passwords, pin numbers to my access to money for me to survive. Every now and then, I would think about it especially now that I do have momentary memory loss. You know, the kind that you are suppose to do something, but you can't remember what it is or you remember something but you can't really remember. I wouldn't mind selective memory loss, as long as I remember the things that I needed to. But it is somewhat like dementia, alzheimer's? I don't know if I would like a memory loss. Maybe if I want to forget the bad things, trauma, then memory loss would be good.
p.s. what is the photo? At first glance, I thought it was part of a porcupine haha.
Is this actually memory loss, or is it because you’re juggling several things at once and are simply too busy? I think this sort of memory loss happens to people of all ages.
I get it sometimes too, especially when I’m juggling lots of things at once, but then I just walk back to the room I was in last and I remember. Sometimes I do things out of habit or, because I’m so busy, I do them slightly differently, and then I forget where I’ve put something – like my phone charger recently – which I spent two or three days looking for. When I eventually decided to tidy up my clothes, I found it in a trouser pocket. I’d put those trousers on, but before I left for work, I’d actually changed because I found it too warm for trousers, and so those trousers simply ended up back amongst my clothes, charger and all.
The little thing you can see in the photo is a chestnut… It’s a real sticky mess; it’s really annoying when it gets in your hair or sticks to your clothes. Once it’s completely dried out, the spiky husk bursts open and the chestnut is inside. Those spines do serve a purpose, of course, because when they get caught in animals’ fur, the chestnut ends up somewhere else and a new tree can grow there.
Heyyy, it happens to me too! Spending few days looking for something that I have misplaced. I'm not sure if it is memory loss or simply too busy. But I do realise, I get distracted easily too. For example, if I am in the kitchen, then I suddenly remembered I am suppose to do laundry, then I would go to the rooms to collect laundry but along the way, I get distracted to check something else and I would go back to the kitchen without the laundry until some moments later. Or I would pause for some time, on the way to the rooms, wondering what was I suppose to do going to the rooms.
Ohhh its a chestnut? I love eating chestnuts, wow, never knew it has a spiky husk. Thanks for sharing. We learn something everyday. Ah that kind of seed spreading. Amazing nature.

Well, I didn’t put the brush down in the wrong place at all; I actually put it away neatly, and that’s when things went wrong. You see, I’m sorting through the different types of paint and, whilst doing so, organising the corresponding canvases and types of paper, as well as the palettes and brushes. I also know I’d put it in the little cupboard under the desk because it’s too long to fit in the box or the tray I use for my other watercolour bits and bobs. Maybe it’s still right at the back of the cupboard – I felt around with one hand – but I couldn’t be bothered to unpack the whole cupboard again and crawl around in there.
I recognise that feeling of popping into a room to fetch something, and then forgetting what it was. That doesn’t apply to the washing, mind you, because we use the washing machine as a laundry basket – so anything that’s dirty goes straight in. What does happen to me is that when I go somewhere to do or fetch something, I get distracted because there’s some drawing or painting stuff lying about, and then I think, ‘Oh, I’ll just do this or that,’ and before I know it, I’ve lost track of what I was doing, hahaha.
Chestnuts are really handy. Did you know you can also make soap from sweet chestnuts to do the washing with?
Of course, you can also roast and eat them.
This BOOMING vote is yours and well deserved!
