RE: [EN/CN] A Break from Cyberpunk: Harvesting Fresh Walnuts in the Taihang Mountains | 暂离赛博朋克:太行山深处的打核桃之旅

in CCC2 days ago

Congratulations on reaching the 60 reputation milestone! And your girls are beautiful! It is always nice to take many breaths of fresh air in the mountains. I have never seen walnut harvests before. Never knew walnuts have a skin outside its hard shell. And it looks like a fruit. Thank you for sharing this with us. The black ink doesn't sound pleasant, much like when squids squirt their black ink literally anywhere and everywhere 😅. And when you described your kids running around the mountain of nature, it reminds me of Sound of Music hehe. Is the place far from where you live? Do you drive to a certain spot first and climb to reach there?

Thank you so much for the warm congratulations! Hitting 60 was a huge and happy surprise for me today. 😊

Yes, the fresh green skin of the walnut is tricky, and the juice stains your hands exactly like squid ink—it takes days to wash off! To answer your question, the Taihang Mountains are not too far from our city. We usually drive for a couple of hours to reach a specific village at the base, and from there, we hike and climb up the mountain trails to find the walnut trees. It’s tiring but completely worth it when you see the kids running wild and free in nature.

Now we are back home resting up, as my little grandson's 3rd birthday is coming up in just a few days, so it's time to prepare for a family celebration! Thank you again for stopping by and leaving such a lovely comment!

Aaawwww.. happy birthday to your little grandson! 祝你宝贝孙子生日快乐 and have a wonderful celebration!

You are on the road to reaching 70 in no time! Aah.. the whole trip to Taihang Mountains can take up a whole day then? Do you stay at the village for the night before traveling home?
