RE: My Dusty Upvotes

in CCC • 10 days ago

Hi! There are many ways to grow on Steemit, one is upvoting. I understand what you mean, that feeling that our upvote is not worthy. I'll tell You something, sometimes when I see a comment being upvoted previously but didn't reach that 0.02, I do upvote to make sure the cometer gets something, of course if I find it valuable. Maybe someone else (like a curator or another user) likes the comment too and gives a little support. Then I can get also get an unexpected reward.

On the other hand, un upvoted comment usually gets up in the list, showing there is something kind of important about it.

I'll tell you more: I didn't know a global rewards pool existed haha. I know now thanks to you.

I asked Gemini about that on Steemit and it says that it might go, for instance, to the witnesses. Let's ask @wakucat, she surely knows better.

I understood your explanation about bots support in this case. I have never used them, and won't, I'm sure more people like me will find your content worthy.

And yes, steemworld is great.

You have your answer. It is a bit hard to always switch accounts.
A big hug to you.

Btw, it is very quiet if it comes to the witnesses. All of a sudden all conversations died (most likely they talk without me somewhere else where I am not invited).

Thank you @blessedlife for reading and commenting ❣️

I would love to upvote quality comments too but my upvote value is only 0.006 at the moment which would be a waste to the commenter (with the SP and voting power/weight calculation). So I would upvote the commenter's post instead, unless I see that their comment has already been upvoted and my upvote will add on to it to be above 0.02. At least, they will get a payout from my little upvote added with the rest of the upvotes they got from the comment or post.

Haha yah.. but the posts I read were written 8 years ago, so I am not sure if it is still the same now. Guess what, I asked Gemini too hahahah (if Gemini was human, he/she probably thinking why are there so many questions about this now? Hahah).

I used dustbunny before and it did help but I think these bots have all moved to Hive. Yup yup, steemworld is great. My go-to dashboard.

If you do not upvoted at all and your CSI is low that will be seen as anti Steemit, unloyal. No matter what, they like to see you being active. A solution also is to upvote a different post of that users close to the payout, like said day 6.

Not too long ago CSI was also part of giving upvotes by curators and at challenges and for those applying for curator it still is a big deal to proof you vote for (support) many different accounts. If you always vote for the same the CSI will not go up. If your CSI is extremely high this means you give very low votes like 5% if nothing just to make your CSI look good!

Ohh.. day 6 upvotes are good for the author? I didn't know that. And what is CSI? I usually upvote posts or comments that already has 0.02 value. Else my voting power decreases with lower voting value to the author. I think that is how it works haha. Still a lot to learn about the mechanics here. Another thing, if the post has already passed the 7 days payout, if we upvote the comment of someone which is less than 7 days, does the commenter get a payout after 7 days of his/her comment?

Indo the same if I notice the 0.01 upvoted.
Where do you believe the interest over your SP comes from and the accounts of the Steemcurators are funded with?

The witnesses do not receive this dust. They pay to run a server to generate blocks or to be able to let blocks transfer your data like posting, commenting, transferring Steem and SO
If blocks (those blocks creating the block chain) are created, they also create Steem. The top witnesses create most and receive (a part?) of this Steem as a payment.
If there is too much Steem the value drops, if there is exchanged toi much Steem (powerdowns) the value drops.

The only way to get rid of too much Steem (it is not different from printing dollars) is to take it out of the circulation. The so called burnsteem (by now burn SBD that isn't layed out).

The pool (rewards) is drying up, it is drained.
If the servers stop Steem is no longer generated but the blockchain also falls apart and no longer exists.
