RE: Rice And Plantain Cravings

in CCC • 16 days ago

Here we prepare it in so many different ways - fried, boiled, roasted. We eat it with almost everything - beans, rice, eggs, stew, it goes so well with all of them

That milk and honey combination sounds delicious though, I'd love to try it. Do you use powdered milk or liquid milk? Or is it condensed milk? 🥛

Honey is quite expensive here, but I will definitely give it a try. Do you add anything else to it?

Sort:

We used to be really boring with food, but now that I know that mature bananas go with everything, we're going to experiment more.

Since we see it as a fruit here, we almost always use it in desserts. For example, we slice bananas, add milk or yogurt, and sweeten with molasses or sugar.

And now that it's so hot, we blend them with milk for a snack .

Everything is expensive here too, but luckily there are a couple of plants at my parents' house that usually bear fruit. 😊

We also eat it sliced on bread (next to just so or in yoghurt or shakes), you can also make chips out of it, bake bananbread plus baked or fried ananas is also yummy! Ever tried them with pancake?

This BOOMING vote is yours and well deserved!

Oh, I think I get what you mean. Where you put different fruits together, add milk, and eat it like cereal. That one is done with bananas, but the one I fried is plantain — the unripe ones.

They are different here. Plantains are thicker and the peel is green, while bananas have a yellow peel.

Hmm, I've heard that about plantains and bananas before! To me, they're both bananas, lol... So plantains never get sweet?

Haha. But they do, If you let the plantain get really ripe— yellow with black spots

It ..black like they say here.
If bananas look like that they are also ripe unless they were kept cold (cold home or fridge).
