Hahaha u know, the first thought I had just looking at your drawing was cruella!! Your furcoat turned out nice though, kinda like the rabbit fur kind. I love seeing dramas with rabbit fur coats. They look so soft. Is she holding a lamp pole? Ya i think watercolour might smudge the fineliner ubless you fineliner after watercolour?

Yes,she holds a lamp pole...
If you ask me that coat isn't soft at all 🤣

Pen after watercolour might work also the other way round.
Chinese ink works too on bamboo paper, just not on watercolour paper. The result you see with my apple.

Who knows Cruella also shows up with one of the other prompts, but making her furcoats will take a lot of time Plus I should use pen or Chinese ink.

Hehe. You know, watching historical chinese dramas with furry coats, their coats look soo soft and I read they are rabbit hair. Poor rabbits though.

What is the difference between watercolor paper and bamboo paper? I am guessing watercolor spreads the color better?

Watercolour paper absorbs more water, and you can then let that water – or rather, the colours – run.

On some pads, the watercolour paper is bound all the way round. In that case, you can get started straight away.
You can paint wet-on-dry – that is, apply wet paint to a dry section of paper – or you can wet the paper completely first and paint on it.
The paint will then bleed into any wet areas, or you can wet specific sections and drip paint onto them, which will bleed across the wet area.

I can’t do this with bamboo paper. That’s actually just ordinary paper. Nor can I first soak it in a bowl of water, then take it out, let it dry, and then work on it with watercolours. You can do this with watercolour paper, though. And you’re also supposed to prepare watercolour paper for use first, at least when the paper isn’t attached all the way round the pad.
So it’s processed slightly differently.

Ahh ok. I guess it depends what effect we are looking or hoping for? Not sure why when I read bamboo paper, I think of chinese calligraphy paper. Do you use those watercolor pencils? I have a set but haven’t quite try them. I think it is a way to paint controllably 😅

No, I do not use watercolour pencils. Just paint and brushes. Usually, I do not even use watercolour.

Those pencils might be good to sketch with, for accents. Just give it a try. Do not colour too much Nd too thick. Once wet it will be three times more.
