RE: INKtober 2026 - Contraption - There Number One
I used to pester a family friend's kid to draw something like this for me when I was a kid. I don't know why I did that, maybe I really like to see people draw.
I also like to see people at work, no matter if they draw, renovate the kitchen or knit. I observe, and note what they do, the process they go through. At many times their skills also have a calming effect like watching the fish in the water tank, or home some stare for longer at the washing machine tumbling...
It sounds as if you learn from how others draw and you can remember what they did and why and what you liked .

I never learn anything from that guy though. Maybe it's some kind of ASMR for me, in pre ASMR age. The other day, I watched someone painting a slab of braised pork belly on FB. Nice. Seeing how they used colors that I never expected, it's like watching a magic show for me.
Sometimes I do squat in front of my washing machine and watch it. I wish there's more space there, maybe a nice little sofa for me to sit and relax and watch the machine.

Most likely if you draw or paint frequently you will automatically start using what you saw or felt while watching it. This how people learn, and should learn.
It is indeed strange there's never room to sit comfortable in front of the washing machine... I wonder why. I am sure many watch it at work. It has a calming effect and helps to gather ones thoughts.
