In the Basket
Looking intently at the basket, Elena remembers everything that happened then. She was only 20 years old, and her father wanted her to marry his best friend , a man in his fifties.
Tears well up in her eyes, thinking about how she had to flee from her home, and the many struggles she has faced along the way over the years.
Now, at 35 years old, she decides to go back and visit her father. She wants to know about him; he is her father, and she cannot let more years pass without seeing him again.
She calls and buys a ticket to travel the next day. Elena gets up, takes the basket in her hands, arrives at the station, and travels. Her mind wanders with imagination, but when she arrives at her father's house, he hugs her and asks for forgiveness. She hugs him back and says, 'Dad, I forgive you, and I brought you this gift.' Her father looks at the basket and tells her, 'Let's put this basket away; we do not have good memories when we look at it.
