RESTORATION
"In that day I will make the governors of Judah like a firepan in the woodpile, and like a fiery torch in the sheaves; they shall devour all the surrounding peoples on the right hand and on the left, but Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place—Jerusalem."
Zechariah 12:6 (NKJV)
A believer should not strive or make effort to fight for himself or herself (Romans 12:19). If God wants to deliver or fight for any of His children, it would not be done by the physical strength or ability or wisdom of such a person. In the text, God said He will make the governors or leaders of Judah like a firepan in the woodpile, and like a fiery touch in the sheaves; they shall devour all the surrounding peoples (Zechariah 12:6). God was simply talking about empowering His people, the Israelites, and their leaders (Zechariah 12:2-6).
If God wants to fight for you, your own physical strength would not be needed. God would supernaturally empower you or anoint you for whatever He wants to do in your life.
In this passage of the Bible, both the people of Israel or Judah and their
leaders would be empowered against the surrounding peoples or nations who had one time or the other oppressed them.
In the package of God's promises: Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place. In other words, although they were once dispossessed but they would be restored, their land would be taken back for them. They would be resettled where they used to be, the usual or former location of the city (Zechariah 12:6).
If you had lost anything, or what belongs to you had been forcefully or
unlawfully taken from you, God will fight for you and take back for you, what belongs to you.
Peace.
