YOU STILL LACK ONE THING

“SO WHEN JESUS HEARD THESE THINGS, He said to him, ‘YOU STILL LACK ONE THING. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; AND COME, FOLLOW ME.’” - Luke 18:22 (NKJV)
The test of your true commitment and submissiveness is shown in what you are willing to lay down or forgo for the sake of Christ Jesus and God’s kingdom on the earth.
It was not riches that would hinder the young ruler from heaven, but his inability to part with it and embrace what God says. He claimed to have kept the law (Luke 18:21), but he could not give all to become Jesus' disciple (Luke 18:22-23).
Today, God is asking you:
Are you ready to leave all and follow Jesus Christ?
Are you ready to renounce that power, that position, that secret society, and follow Jesus alone with all your heart?
Are you ready to forsake all and answer the call of God on your life?
Remember: “So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him.” - Luke 5:11
REFLECT:
■ What is that one thing you are still holding on to that is stopping you from following Jesus fully?
■ Have you really counted all things as loss for the excellence of knowing Christ, or is something still competing with God in your heart?
