Build a garden gazebo in ForkBuild 🌿 (Tutorial #2)

Did you make the Small Tutorial Cottage last time? Today's build is even cuter: A Small Tutorial Gazebo. Only 31 bricks in six steps, and at the end you can actually walk up the steps and stand inside it! 🙌

Quick refresher: press 2 for the Place tool, pick a brick in Build Library → Bricks, and click to place it. Hover on top of a brick to stack on it. R turns the brick 90° before you place it, and Ctrl/Cmd+Z undoes anything.

Want to peek at the finished one? Open my gazebo, click it, and hit Edit a Copy. Each step is a group, 1 Platform to 6 Roof, so you can click a group's name to see its bricks.

Step 1: Platform

Gazebos sit up off the grass. Place 4 Cubes (in Basic) as legs, one under each corner, then stack a Slab 4x4 (in Structure) on top. Instant stage! 🎭

Step 2: Steps

We need a way up. Grab a Stair from Roofs & Stairs and press R three times so it climbs toward the platform. Place two Stairs side by side in front, then lay a Plate 2x4 (in Basic) on the ground as a little path.

Step 3: Columns

Put a Column (in Structure) on each of the four corners of the platform. Already looking fancy. ✨

Step 4: Railing

Grab Trim from Details and run it between the columns. On the sides, press R once to turn it 90°. Leave a gap at the front so you can walk in. That's 11 Trims in total.

Step 5: Beams

Lay four Beams (in Structure) in a ring on top of the columns. Turn the side ones 90° with R. This holds up the roof.

Step 6: Roof

Here's a neat trick: one Hip Roof (in Roofs & Stairs) covers a 2×2 area. Our gazebo is 4×4, so four Hip Roofs cover it perfectly. Place them on the beams and you're done! 🎉

Now go stand in it!

Switch to World View and walk your avatar up the steps. The stairs are small treads you can climb, and the railing stops you from tumbling off the edge. Honestly, it's very satisfying. 😄

Make it yours: recolor the roof, add flower beds around it, or put a bench inside. Then Save → Publish → Distribute and choose Steem to share it from your own account, picture and "See it in 3D" link included. 💛
