WHILE PETER WAS STILL SPEAKING

“WHILE Peter was still speaking these words, THE HOLY SPIRIT FELL UPON ALL THOSE WHO HEARD THE WORD.”
Acts 10:44 (NKJV)

The Holy Spirit fell on all those who were hearing the Word through Peter (Acts 10:44). God did this to confirm that He approved what was happening in the meeting, and to prove that the heart of the people hearing the Word had already embraced Jesus Christ.

God largely works with the heart of whoever comes to Him:

9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For WITH THE HEART ONE BELIEVES unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
Romans 10:9-13 (NKJV)

READ: Revelation 3:20

If the hearts of the people were not right and they did not embrace Jesus Christ in their hearts, God would not have baptized them with the Holy Spirit—even while the message was still on. God did not allow the preacher, Peter, to finish his message or make any altar call, God Himself did that, attested to the message by baptizing them with the Holy Spirit (Acts 10:44). He is not partial indeed (Romans 2:11).

Peter had this to say when he was telling the church in Jerusalem how It all happened in the Cornelius house:

15 AND AS I BEGAN TO SPEAK, THE HOLY SPIRIT FELL UPON THEM, AS UPON US AT THE BEGINNING.
16 Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’
17 IF THEREFORE GOD GAVE THEM THE SAME GIFT AS HE GAVE US WHEN WE BELIEVED ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, WHO WAS I THAT I COULD WITHSTAND GOD?”
Acts 11:15,17 (NKJV)

If the believers or ministers would allow God to move as He may have wanted to move in their meetings, they would always experience a similar thing, about what happened in the Cornelius house. When the Holy Spirit takes over a meeting, He does the extraordinary—what no preacher can do.
However, the human regimentation—church governmental rules or rigid regulations and control—would always not allow God to move and do His work.

If you had the opportunity of leading in a meeting, always acknowledge God through the Holy Spirit on the inside of you and tell Him to have His way in the gathering. Not only telling Him verbally, but you also should allow Him to move or do things as He may want to by being sensitive and submissive to His leadings in the meeting.

One of the ways to allow the move of the Holy Spirit in a believer's meeting or gathering is to have stayed with God in prayer in preparation for the meeting. You should not be anxious for anything but be yielded to the move of the Holy Spirit—whichever way He may lead you.

Peace.
