Expensive
"Hmm.. wine red....sunset orange....ocean green.....", John mumbled to himself as he clicked on the options on screen and the images of the coffee cups changed one after another. John scrolled down the page and read softly, "380ml Stainless Steel Magnetic Auto-Stirring Mugs".
John snapped out of his online shopping and reminded himself that he was in the office, where he was supposed to be working. And just as quickly, he answered the reminder in his head that he has been working overtime for the past 2 weeks. Overtime that cannot be claimed. Management reports and quotations, all with tight deadlines that was always the case when it comes to requests from the top. "I think I deserve a break. It was not as though I was taking a long break, just a quick one to online shop", John justified to himself.
"Not that expensive, less than 5 dollars after all the discount vouchers. Hmm... and it comes with leak proof lids. Not bad, not bad", John thought happily. John continued scrolling and clicking to compare the options on screen. He went through some of the reviews for each, and asked himself if he felt like buying and went deep into his thoughts.
"Hey John, are you free?"
John was startled. Looking up, he saw George standing in front of him, having approached so quietly that John hadn't noticed. Fortunately, his workstation was tucked into a corner, safely out of view from the rest of the office. John quickly pulled himself together.
"No, I am expensive", John answered.

Hahaha. Poor Jhon—he was exhausted from working so hard. And, obviously, he wasn't "free or on sale" like the mugs, because his value exceeded George's expectations, hehe. Excellent piece. I loved reading it.

I have seen this happen in the office many times too whenever a colleague asks if they are free, the answer from frustrated the other colleague is that they are expensive hehe, which is why I felt I had to write this.

También he visto esto muchas veces en la oficina: cuando un compañero pregunta si alguien está «libre» (free), la respuesta del otro —frustrado— es que son «caros» (expensive), jeje; por eso sentí que tenía que escribir esto.
