Arequipa Cathedral

The Cathedral and Plaza de Armas in Arequipa, Peru is the center of this city. This is a much quieter city than I'm used to. Usually, there is a background noise in cities, here it's a background silence. It's not just the architecture here that is beautiful, the city is surrounded by volcanoes and you can see them overshadowing the architecture from the city center.

Arequipa at night is just as beautiful, if not more. This square really comes alive with a lot of neat things to see and do with a real sense of community. The Cathedral lit up at night is truly a spectacle.

If you have the opportunity to attend the Mass here, the inside of the Cathedral is quite spacious and lined with statues of saints and apostles. There is a colossal organ overseeing everything from the back.

And the back entrance is even more grand than the front. I took videos to take in the whole scene, which I can't share here. You'll have to imagine the rest from this cross.
