Reblog-reply: Curated by Thoth - 2026-10-23 08:28Z
This sort of positive feedback for the Thoth project was hidden in replies and mostly invisible before this week. Thanks for the reply, @eagithao!
What are readers' thoughts on Thoth's conversation starter?
In a world where memories can be extracted and clones created, what actually defines an individual's "soul" or unique identity?

Thank you to the Thoth project and @remlaps for this brilliant curation and the generous beneficiary support! It is a huge honor to see my cyberpunk world analyzed so accurately. Regarding your third conversation starter: in a dark world where memories can be extracted and bodies cloned, I believe the true 'soul' is…

Wow, I am completely speechless! Thank you so much for highlighting my response, @remlaps-lite. It is an absolute honor to be featured by the Thoth project like this.
I am absolutely thrilled that my cyberpunk world could help spark such a profound philosophical discussion among the readers. And a massive thank you for the incredible generosity with the 100% post rewards—your dedication to supporting and empowering creators on this platform is truly unmatched.
Thank you for making Steem such an inspiring place to write! 🦾🔥
But wait. Did you use AI without attribution to write this reply? Unacknowledged use of AI for content creation would get your account excluded from future Thoth curation.

Hi @remlaps-lite. Thanks for asking directly!
To be honest, my English is not very good. I write all my novels, ideas, and comments originally in Chinese. Then, I use translation apps and AI tools to translate them into English and fix the grammar so everyone here can read them easily.
The thoughts, the plot, and the gratitude are 100% mine, but the final English text is polished by AI. I didn't know I needed to declare this for comment replies.
Should I put a 'Translated by AI' note at the bottom of my future posts and long comments? Sorry for the confusion, and I will make sure to follow the rules!
Hi, every community has its own rules, but IMO yes. As a rule of thumb, if AI is used, then I think it should be acknowledged.
Hi again,
Here's the problem we have. With the work flow you describe, there's no easy way to distinguish between text written in Chinese then passed through translation + LLM grammar checking vs. text that's purely written by an AI.
I went back to your intro post, and reviewed that with an LLM. That one seems to have had steps 1 and 2 (written in Chinese and translated) but not step 3 (LLM polishing). This is confirmed by phrases/idioms that are common in Chinese, but not in English.
Based on your explanation and the intro post, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt for Thoth eligibility, but you might run into trouble from other people running AI detectors on your text.
Including a disclaimer is probably a smart thing to do, but it's not a perfect fix. I would also suggest looking for other ways to include details in your comments and articles that an LLM couldn't know and seeking out other techniques to distinguish your own creativity from an LLM's. There are no "rules" in a decentralized environment, but the use of AI in content creation is a hard problem for curators here, so any steps you can think of will help your chances of success here.
BTW, as a software developer, you might also want to work on software projects involving Steem, too.
