My Steemit Goal

in Steem Kids & Parents • 4 years ago (edited)
As you rightly said, @simonnwigwe different people have different goals when they join a website that pays. I had certain ideas in my mind, and I am not ashamed to admit that money was the first one, especially since I am waiting to rejoin my contract job almost two years after I was laid off. I tried a couple of local jobs, but they did not satiate my inner hunger, so I joined the Steemit platform in May 2022.

I will answer all your questions honestly, and now you're the best judge to decide if I did them right or wrong. By the way, I have failed miserably on one of your contests that I tried, but that was natural because that was cryptocurrency-related and I had no idea how to participate properly. I am still not perfect, but I am learning and trying my best.

Here are my answers to your questions:

What is your first steemit goal?

banana-leaf-910810_960_720.jpg

Would you mind if I said that, like everyone else who joins a writing website, earning money was my first priority, even though I had no idea how blockchain websites work and more so because I am out of a regular job right now due to my layoff during COVID-19?

I used to think that writing was the easiest way of all, especially when there was no alternative in an unemployable situation. When I started writing, I did not know whether I would get anything or not. Nothing was fixed, but I wanted to write about my hunger—the hunger of the soul and the hunger of the stomach.

It was not that I had not earned money by writing articles before, but not on any blockchain website, but on other websites that paid based on the Google pay-per-click algorithm or outright. But before I commenced writing here, I was hesitant because I did not know anything about blockchain or its ways.

Have these goals changed because of anything? Explain What is your first steemit goal?

banana-leaf-910810_960_720.jpg

Once I got going and tried various communities for writing and even had a little success, I was spending more of my time reading posts than writing. I was reading about the success stories of various writers, especially @jyoti-thelight, and @lavanyalaxman, whom I invite to join and who keep suggesting about whales, dolphins, ranks, and all that, and of course the club status, which amused me. My philosophy changed overnight.

I was no longer thinking in terms of earning money from this website, at least not for making it a website for paying my bills, nor did it pay me as much as I needed to pay my bills, so I thought an author may even write for his happiness and making a place on a website.

Do you think you have achieved your goal or you are still working towards it? If you are working towards it. Please share how you intend to achieve it

banana-leaf-910810_960_720.jpg

My counter-question is, "Do you ever complete your goals?" The answer is no, you never do, and as the wise guys say, you learn as long as you live and remain a student forever. I feel the same. You see, there is so much to learn in this world, so I will keep learning and implementing that in my writing and actions.

Yes, now that my goals have definitely changed, I am writing to reach somewhere on this website. Maybe I would not go deeper into the blockchain or its working style, but I will definitely do so to raise the standard of budding authors and help them by giving them a community where they can write freely in creative writing genres and later in management and entrepreneurship.

Why do you think steemians change their goals with time?

banana-leaf-910810_960_720.jpg

That's natural! Not everyone thinks the same way. Most people join writing websites to earn money while also learning, so some focus on learning while others focus on earning. I believe that the more you learn, the more likely it is that you will earn.I have learned on this website that the more power you have in the form of SP, the stronger your wallet gets, and your chances of earning increase in that ratio, so I am working in that direction.

I am not dependent on my writing for paying my bills, so I can wait a couple of years before I look at the earning point of view. In fact, I have never withdrawn a single STEEM from this website, but rather, I have brought some in here from my earnings. Therefore, I can say my goals have changed, and earning is definitely on my mind, but withdrawing is definitely not, not at this stage.

I have a clear intention to learn and contribute my bit to this platform for the overall progress of everyone, and that definitely includes me in the process of development.

If you are to come into the platform as a newbie again, what will be your goal and how long do you think it will take to achieve it. Give reasons for your answer.

banana-leaf-910810_960_720.jpg

That's an interesting question. My strategies would be completely different now that I have a better understanding of this platform. I would no longer struggle to make myself familiar enough to grow in stature but would instead indulge in all the activities that I have learned here so far. First, I'll join all the communities I know are supportive, and then I'll let one grow faster than the others.

Now, I know what to do to get the best return, I will not waste my time and get to work from day one, as soon as I get my beginner's post. Now I know where to look for help and what to do to grow my rank. I will do everything in a more systematic way.

I am about to reach rank 70, which took me almost nine months, but if I join this site today with my current experience, I will probably achieve it in six months because I know exactly what to do to get curators and booming support. I will probably add more Steem to my wallet than I am doing right now and will take part in more contests than I did in my present profile.

My goal will be to achieve "dolphin" status within the first few months and then go on adding more and more. I am not too ambitious to become a moderator, as I have already forgone a couple of chances because my target is to start my own communities with the help of experienced members of this site.

Conclusion

I guess I have no intention to compete with anyone but myself in growing my stature and, in turn, strengthening my wallet, which has a value worth showing my voting power.

Thanks for reading my humble opinion and about my future plans.
