My cucumber plants are blooming already!
In mid August this year, I sowed some cucumber seeds and gave a lot of care until the seedlings grew into small cucumber plants!
Then I transplanted the small plants in different pots and again followed closely on a daily basis...
And this morning I was so happy seeing the first flowers coming out of the plants!
First flowers are generally male ones...
From what I learnt, the first few flowers will be male ones and won't produce any cucumber at all!
The female flowers will have a small fruit at the back while the male one is like in the photo below :
Still baby plants!
I was kind of surprised to see flowers this morning as I was not expecting so!
The cucumber plants are only 2 months old and still quite small. Check it out for yourself...
10 healthy cucumber plants!
If I manage to get them all producing cucumbers, I will have a lot! For sure I will need to give away for free to neighbors and family.
I sowed 12 seeds and managed to grow 10 into plants...
I want to hand pollinate!
I really want to try hand pollination with the cucumber flowers, but first I need to see female flowers coming out.
This will be fun and will document the process for my blog.
Planted some chili peppers too...
After checking on the cucumber plants, I found some free space where I decided to plant 4 chili peppers plants.
These are the small size chili peppers.
I hope I can grow them up until producing spicy chili peppers.
Potato / Coriander / Pumpkin Flower
These days the weather is just perfect for the nature and we can see it through the plants I have at home.
We have flowers all around and everything from potato to coriander, they are all growing nicely.
The potato plant is another experience I am doing...planting in a bag! Saw that on the net, and want to give a try!
Tomatoes are turning red!
Otherwise, the tomatoes are reaching its maturity and couple of them are turning reddish! This is so encouraging!
Being a new comer on gardening side, I am so happy to have witnessed from the seed sowing until the plants produce fruits!
Really an amazing experience!
As you saw, my garden is looking so healthy these days and hope it stays so for long!
But with summer days coming up, I will have to look for ways to protect them from the hot summer sun.
Here we are with the latest news from my garden, hope you enjoyed reading the post same like I am enjoying myself everyday in the garden!
Wish you a pleasant day/evening ahead!
Best Regards!
