Pick and Write [Agricultural Word] #43: Biosecurity
Hello my dear Steemians,
When it is time for the starting a business on land, working with crops, plants but also when someone decides even to have cattle and birds with the goal of for their own family or for selling to local people or maybe even to the big supermarket for sale then it is important to make sure that the products are all healthy starting with the soil, vegetation and crops and also animals.
It is important to follow the guidance of Health organisation that will be given to anyone who produce own products and also such organisation will announce any precaution of there is any danger spread for example through dirty water, or contamination underground water, that can be from any industrial organisations if there are close by. Water on farms important also for the animals that are there and that are watered using often underground water.
Infection can be also spread by infected birds, for example any wild bird whose cots or feathers can land on the fields while the wild birds are flying over the farmer’s territory.
In order to make sure that the animals are healthy farmers usually have a Veterinary doctor who will be there for check up starting with any baby-animals and also following the instructions of Health organisation and giving them vaccinations, also when the animals receive babies often if the animal is suffering and unable to give birth to baby the Veterinary doctor will also been called to help an animal.
There is also situation when there is an outbreak of any infection then it is important to prevent the spread of infection to both to other animals and to people.
Biosecurity is important to keep our farm fields, ground water, animals safe and to make sure that every infection should be reported and dealt appropriately.
