Pick and Write Rotational Grazing 👉#42

in Steem-Agro • 2 days ago

Hello to all members of the Steem-Agro community!

Today I want to share my thoughts on grazing while taking part in this interesting competition about agricultural topics. Animal husbandry plays a role in rural life because many farmers rely on cows, buffaloes, goats and sheep for a big part of their income. Having feed and fresh grass is necessary for the health and good growth of these animals.

What is meant by pasture rotation?

In this system a large pasture area is split into areas. Animals are only allowed to eat in one section at a time while other sections are left empty for a while. During that time the grass can grow back. Finish growing. When an area is ready again animals can be moved there.

Benefits of this system

I believe the main benefit of this system is that the pasture grass can be protected from being eaten all the time. If the animals stay in the place all the time the grass can get worn down and the land can get worse. Using parts of the pasture one after another can help the grass grow better.

By doing this the animals can eat types of fresh grass which helps their diet. Good food is important for their health milk production and overall growth. Also good care of the pasture can help keep the grass covering the land and reduce the chance of soil washing

How can farmers use this system?

Farmers can split their pastures based on the size of their land and the number of animals they have. The animals should be allowed to eat in each section for an amount of time and then moved to another section. It is also important to make sure there is water and extra food when needed for the animals. Before using the pasture it should be checked that the grass has grown well. The rest time can change depending on the weather, rain, soil and type of grass.

Even small farmers can use this system depending on the land and resources they have. However it is important to plan so that the animals get food and the pasture is not overused.

The outcome

In the end I want to say that using pasture rotation is a way to raise animals and take better care of the land. If farmers know their land and their animals. Do what is right better use of forage and better feeding of animals can happen. We need to learn farming methods that help the farmers work in a way that's profitable and also protects natural resources.

@taahee1 After sharing a very good post👍 you have also shared a 'good night' message. Regarding the animals, one should keep in mind that their feed🌴 should not be changed all at once in the same location this ensures that the area does not become completely overwhelmed or unsuitable. As has been well explained. you should also take good care of the animals'🐄 milk production by providing them with appropriate feed🌴.Thank you so much for sharing the post on my behalf.
