💐In the name of Allah the Most Gracious the Most Merciful💐

💐all steemit friend assalamualaikum 💐

My name is @maryam86. Iam from Pakistan. How are you all friends? I hope you are doing well. After quite a long time. I am returning to steemit to share a post with all of you. I am very excited to get back to work! Previously I had set my account to power down but today I am participating in the contest: "Basic Knowledge in Agriculture 104." The topic for today is the monitoring of agricultural diseases. I would like to share my thoughts and explanations regarding how to monitor and prevent diseases in agriculture. Let’s get started!

🌾An Explanation of Disease Surveillance in Agricultur🌾

Disease surveillance in agriculture refers to the continuous monitoring of fields. crops and plants. The goal is to detect diseases before they take hold.allowing for timely intervention to prevent their spread.

Why is Surveillance Important?

🫴1:Early Detection If it is discovered early for instance. that wheat is developing rust or that whiteflies have appeared on cotton the issue can often be controlled with just one or two applications of a pesticide or fungicide. If detection is delayed. the entire crop could be destroyed.

🫴2: Cost Savings

Surveillance helps farmers determine exactly when and where to apply treatments. Avoiding indiscriminate spraying across the entire field saves both money and time.

🫴3: Preventing Outbreaks

Diseases can spread rapidly from one field to another.Through surveillance an outbreak can be contained and stopped in its tracks.

How is Surveillance Conducted?

1💫Field Scouting (Daily Inspection)

Visiting the field daily ideally in the morning to carefully examine leaves stems. and fruits. Pay special attention to the undersides of leaves as this is where many pests and fungal infections first appear.

2💫 Identifying Symptoms

Yellow brown or black spots on leaves.

  • Curling or shriveling of leaves.
  • Sudden wilting of the plant.
  • Signs of rot on the fruit.

3💫Modern Methods

Monitoring Weather Data Fungal diseases tend to spread more rapidly in conditions of high humidity and heat.

💫- Using Mobile Apps
Various mobile applications are now available that can identify a disease simply by analyzing a photograph of an affected leaf. Informing the Agriculture Department: If the same disease appears in multiple fields in your area immediately notify the Agriculture Field Officer.

🌾Golden Rule for Farmers🌾

From sowing until harvest. ensure you inspect your fields at least twice a week. Remember prevention is better than cure once a disease sets in the costs increase tenfold.

You are absolutely right. A farmer should know all the essential rules, from sowing seeds to harvesting crops. They should also know which sprays can protect different crops from various diseases.

Thank you so much for your support. I really appreciated that you provided feedback it was great how you highlighted that people should be aware of these issues. You also took the initiative to address the situation, effectively communicating with others to prevent them from placing their crops in that specific area. you even prepared a short post to share about it. It was truly heartening to see that.

Thank you so much
