The poultry production is the branch of the agriculture which is dedicated to the larger scale production of the domestic birds for producing the meat, eggs or both.This industry is an essential component of the food security globally, this provides the higher quality protein through the animals such as chickens, hens, ducks and geese.
The process involves a complex supply chain that starts with the selection of the genetic and hatchery management and it moves through the controlled nurturing environment and concludes with the distribution and the processing.
The cycle of the production is usually divided into the two main segments the broiler and the layers.The broiler segment production focuses on the production of the meat where the birds are raised under such optimised conditions to attain the rapid growth and efficient feed.
On the other hand,the layer production emphasis on the egg laying process and ,for this purpose the specific light cycles require and nutrition to make sure the consistent output of the eggs.The modern production of the poultry depends heavily on the precision farming of the livestock, to regulate the temperature, humidity and ventilation the automated systems are use.
The integration of such technologies is useful to minimise the stress of the birds and maximize the biological efficiency.
