In a small farm where tall grasses and some mango trees existed lived a rather stubborn goat called General Bobo. Unlike other goats which would just live on eating grass, Bobo would always assume that he was the most important creature in that farm and would behave as such. In the mornings when other goats used to be busy searching for some grass, Bobo would jump on an old wooden box and stare at the farm hands as if he was inspecting them. Mr. Okoro, the farmer, used to laugh every time and say, "One day, this goat will give me orders!"

It was one Saturday when Mr. Okoro was going to carry some feed bags to the barn when he noticed that his goat had broken free from the pen and was rushing into the compound, knocking down a bucket of water in the process. At once, a young boy called Emeka who was working on the farm shouted, "Bobo! Come back here!" Instead of coming back, Bobo jumped to a heap of firewood, picked a piece of dry cassava peel and started running around with it in its mouth as if he was holding something important.

Things got even more interesting when Bobo saw the bicycle of Mr. Okoro standing against a wall. In what seemed to be a strange move to everyone else, Bobo thought that he should have been the owner of the bicycle and immediately rushed to push his head between the two wheels of the bicycle and start dragging it along the compound. All through the time, Mr. Okoro was chasing the goat shouting, "Leave my bicycle alone!"

Chickens got scared because of all the noise and scattered in all directions. Proudly rooster Chief hopped on a fence and began to crow as if declaring a state of emergency. Old dog Jack even decided to take part in the pursuit. However, it was clear that he was more concerned about hunting the chickens rather than catching Bobo. Very soon the whole farm turned into a comedy, where chickens flew, dog barked, Emeka laughed, and Mr. Okoro chased a goat pulling a bicycle.

At last, Bobo reached the vegetable garden. And there was a moment when he abruptly stopped seeing a basket full of ripe tomatoes. His eyes were wide open with enthusiasm. Goat let go of the bicycle and rushed towards the basket eating tomatoes one by one. "So, this is why you have been running all the way!" – said Mr. Okoro. But it did not take long and Bobo ate the last tomato, jumped right into a little puddle of mud.

Bobo skidded, rolled over two times and ended his run laying on the back with his four legs upwards. It took some time until everyone burst into laughter. First, it was Emeka and then Mr. Okoro. Jack even looked at Bobo as if asking how silly the goat was to cause all these problems. Eventually, Bobo stood up from his muddy spot and stared at everyone angrily as if this whole situation was someone else's fault.

Following this, Mr. Okoro fixed Bobo's pen and ensured that the gate was locked every single time. Even though Bobo did not become the farm manager as he had planned, he definitely became the most popular animal in the farm. Whenever any visitors would visit the farm, Emeka would point to Bobo and announce, “This is General Bobo—the goat who attempted to steal a bicycle!” Bobo would only keep chewing his grass, as if he thought, “They do remember me at least.”
