Italy’s New Generation Is Starting to AnswersteemCreated with Sketch.

Hello everyone, welcome back.
Italy’s 3-1 win over Türkiye in Bologna was not perfect, but it was an important step forward. The result moved the Azzurri into second place in Group A1, behind France and ahead of Belgium.
More importantly, the match showed that Roberto Mancini is beginning to find reliable alternatives.
Mancini made nine changes compared with the draw against France. It was a demanding test for a team playing four matches in eleven days, but Italy showed that its squad has more depth than before.
Gianluca Scamacca opened the scoring in the 26th minute, ending a long wait for another goal with the national team. Türkiye equalised after the break, but Italy reacted immediately.
Barella’s free kick found Riccardo Calafiori, who scored his first international goal with a powerful header. The moment was even more special because it happened at the Dall’Ara, the stadium where Calafiori had developed as a player.
Pio Esposito then completed the victory in the 87th minute. It was his seventh goal in 13 appearances for Italy, confirming that he is becoming more than a promising young striker.
The substitutes made the difference. Calafiori scored, Esposito scored and Kayode added energy on the right. Donnarumma also produced important saves when Türkiye threatened to equalise again.
That is the most encouraging aspect of the match. Italy did not dominate every minute, but it responded well when the game became difficult. The team showed character, depth and a growing sense of identity.
The Group A1 table is now:
France: 10 points.
Italy: 7 points.
Belgium: 6 points.
Türkiye: 0 points.
Italy’s next two matches will decide the group. France will visit San Siro on November 12, before the Azzurri travel to Brussels to face Belgium three days later.
Those games will be much tougher than the match against Türkiye. They will also show how far Mancini’s rebuilding project has really progressed.
For now, Italy can enjoy a valuable victory. The team is not finished, but it is beginning to look like there is something solid to build on.
