Can Pakistan’s capital offer a better quality of life than some of the world’s most famous cities?

Islamabad has made headlines after ranking above New York, London, and Paris in Numbeo’s 2026 Mid-Year Quality of Life Index. 🇵🇰

📊 Here are the reported scores:

🇵🇰 Islamabad — 140.7
🇫🇷 Paris — 138.8
🇺🇸 New York — 137.3
🇬🇧 London — 135.8

🏞️ Beautiful green spaces and scenic surroundings
🛡️ A comparatively strong safety score
💰 Lower living costs than many major Western cities
🏔️ Easy access to the stunning Margalla Hills

However, Islamabad still faces challenges, including pollution, traffic, purchasing power, and access to public services. Quality of life can also vary greatly depending on income and neighbourhood.

Note: Numbeo’s index combines several indicators and user-contributed data. A higher score does not mean Islamabad is better in every aspect of life.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗼 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸?

Is Islamabad becoming one of the most attractive cities to live in, or do New York, London, and Paris still offer a better overall lifestyle?
