I paint not the things I see but the feelings they evoke in me.
Odilon Redon

The reason for our nominations is not favouritism, even if it sometimes seems that way.
This week’s nominees have something in common. Whether they are newcomers or have been active on this platform for some time, for longer, or however often they post: they are all motivated to write, to learn, to improve and to stay in touch. No matter how they’re feeling, and despite the hustle and bustle and stress of everyday life, they still manage time and put a smile on their readers’ faces.

Art will remain the most astonishing activity of mankind born out of struggle between wisdom and madness, between dream and reality in our mind.”
Magdalena Abakanowicz

NOMINATIONS

Nomination 1
Artist: @dreeyor
Singers of the red
Hashtag: artonsteemit
Nominator: wakeupkitty

Twice a piece of art is shown: a drawing accompanied by a poem easy to read. How I wish you all would get out of your comfort zone and invest a bit of time in checking what happens behind the curtain.

"It all started with shapes—just shapes I had drawn for days in a sketchbook. I hadn’t really been using this app, so I decided to check out the perspective drawing feature using just shapes, and I was able to draw a human-like figure using shapes...

Behind the curtain stands a man in blue,
He clears his throat and spits to start anew.
“Did you not practice in the bath today?
Don't worry, judges, honey's on the way.”
He leaves his heavy thoughts and steps onstage...

The distant crowd awaits the coming mage.
The fierce judges watch, demanding speed:
“Get it together, cash is what you need!”
He clears his throat again to start his art,
A song or story flowing from the heart..."

Nomination 2
Freewriter: @akdx
An expensive treat from a great motivational speaker
Hashtag: fun
Nominator: wakeupkitty

This is one of those freewriters who never fails to make readers laugh. As he himself says, he’s a joker and, despite the hashtags he uses, he still manages to throw readers off the scent. Even though he said he didn’t like writing, he’s now writing pieces like this and has even written a poem.

"Once, I met an inspiring figure. She was a great motivational speaker I’d met on steemit. I started attending her lectures.
One day she said, “If you can’t run, walk. If you can’t walk, crawl. But whatever happens, don’t stop.”
I told her, “Great! I’m ready. Just tell me where exactly am I supposed to go?”
She blinked like her brain had crashed. I was hoping that she was surprized to learn how witty my question was..."

Nomination 3
Author: @rosselena
Post:
Hashtag: craft
Nominator: solperez

She shows us the step-by-step process for making a "Rummi (K-Pop Warrior)" piñata for children. Her explanation is so detailed that I feel we can complete this craft project without any hitches.

"I always use recycled cardboard to make my piñatas, because it’s sturdier than the 2-kilo cardboard normally used for piñatas. Lots of people recommend it to me, because they say that even adults hit the piñata with a stick and it still doesn’t fall over, hahaha, and that’s exactly what makes birthdays so much fun. Well, first I draw the outline of the shape onto the cardboard and then I trace the template onto another sheet of cardboard, so that I have the two parts..."

Nomination 4
Photographer: @rumanaafroz
Post
Hashtag: photography
Nominator: solperez

This Steemian shares some stunning photographs with us of a green moth caterpillar (Pergesa acteus). It is possibly in its final stage of development (final instar).
The images are flawless.

"I have endeavored to highlight various aspects of the creature through these images. Macro photography beautifully captures the details of the caterpillar—from its small legs near the head to the grooves along its body. You can clearly see the entire creature, its position on the leaf, and the intricate patterns of its various segments. The natural light and green background make the scene come alive."

Nomination 5
Commenter-Author: @marblely
Comment: The Exquisite Corpse #3
Hashtag: story
Nominator: wakeupkitty

She said she couldn’t do it, that she couldn’t bring herself to take part. To hear that from one of our best writers and commentators surprised me, but it is fine. There's a time for everything. And then, out of the blue, her contribution can be read in the next story, which is being written by several authors.

"I stood there, closed my eyes, took a deep breath and sighed.
Thoughts in mind, too many.
I am tired. Tired of thinking, tired of feeling, of missing. The pain in my heart, in my head.
What is wrong with me?! Maybe I am just artificial without the intelligence.
I looked around, wondering what to do, which way to go.
Since I have decided to bolt and to pay no further intention to time, my limbs went on autopilot. Barefooted, I walked front. Everything around me is nothing. Or is it?"

Nominated by: solperez

The author reflects on the costs for Life, his past investments and the taxes he still has to pay, given that even the smallest transactions are regarded as income. Tracing every single transaction since 2019 is a huge task.

"The problem is: I started with faucets, then invested a small amount, took part in bounties – so I was working, so to speak – which is then treated as employment, taxed accordingly, and then there’s capital gains tax on the profit when I sell. Then I had a website where I sold advertising banner space, so that was work again, taxed accordingly, plus the profit. Then there’s interest income, cashback, and so on. So pretty much everything’s covered. I only did a tiny bit of trading – buy low, sell high. And well… Trying to piece all this together from 2019 to the present day is a real slog. But my tax adviser is now drawing up a ‘Preventivo’ for me – a cost estimate – and if I accept it, he’ll sort it all out for me."

Nomination 7
Author: @leorichies
Diary of Lionel-Richie
Hashtag: betterlife
Nominatie: wakeupkitty

True I find the average diary boring, because mainly the same daily acts are listed or it's a copy-paste job. So why nominate this one? Simply because this newcomer has a catchy title and writing style and something to share. I have high hopes he will start writing other content too.

"... A little distance away from home, my phone decided to change the entire plan. A notification came into our class group saying that the offices would not be open today because of the public holiday.
I just stared at the message for a moment.
So... all that rushing was for nothing?
There was really nothing else to do. I had already left home, but now there was no reason to continue going to school.

Nothing extraordinary happened after that. And maybe that's actually the point. A day doesn't have to go exactly according to plan before you can call it a good day...
Sometimes the plan changes.
Sometimes you get the information late. Sometimes you have to turn around and start again tomorrow."

Hahaha. I love your sense of humor.
