But if it is a fresh fish market, then there is no question! Recently I went to the famous Cherag Ali Fish Market located in Tongi area of Gazipur district. My experience buying fish there was very wonderful. Today I am here with a detailed review post of that market. I hope you all enjoy it.

Cherag Ali is a lively and very busy place in the Tongi area of Gazipur. Cherag Ali Fish Market, located in the heart of this area, is very popular among the locals. The size and hustle and bustle of the market can be understood as soon as you enter it. Although the inside of the market is quite spacious, it is always bustling with buyers and sellers. Fish shops are set up in rows under the sheds, in between light and darkness. The lamps hanging overhead cast a wonderful glow on the fresh fish kept in ice, which looks quite attractive.

The main attraction of Cherag Ali Fish Market is the immense variety of fish here. There is a huge collection of both domestic and marine fish. The most striking thing about entering the market was the abundance of silver hilsa. Fresh hilsa fish were beautifully arranged in rows on ice in large blue drums and trays. The silver scales of the hilsa were sparkling like fireflies on the ice. Apart from this, fresh shrimp, rui, katla, pangas and various species of fresh fish were available here in abundance. To attract buyers, the sellers were sprinkling crushed ice on the fish so that the freshness of the fish was perfect.

The vendors at this market are very friendly and welcoming. They talk to the buyers with a smile and help them choose the right fish according to their preferences. Many vendors were seen weighing the fish accurately using their own digital scales. The market also seemed to be quite tolerant in terms of prices. Good quality fresh fish is available at relatively reasonable prices. As there is an opportunity to bargain, buyers can shop quite comfortably.
