When Help Is Rejected
This drawing is a hammer trying to remove a nail from wood, but the nail on the other side has a hook that prevents it from being pulled out. The meaning behind this piece of art is that some people deliberately refuse to be helped but choose to remain trapped even when a helping hand is right beside them. Hence, the energy, time and resources spent become a wasted effort.
Materials for the drawing
- Embossed paper
- HB Pencil
- 2B Pencil
- 4B pencil
- Eraser
- Blade
- Brush
Step 1
I first wrote my name on the paper and then drew the wood, which was slightly upright. The wood is measured 2cm by 4cm. I achieved this step using an H pencil.
Step 2
I drew the hammer used to pull the nail. The hammer has a handle and a metal head used to strike objects and to pull out objects like nails. I used an H pencil to achieve this level.
Step 3
I drew the nail whose head is jacked by the hammer. I also drew the remaining part of the nail, which is on the other side of the wood. The nail has legs and hands.
Step 4
I shaded the wood using a 2B and 4B pencil and then blended it with a brush.
Step 5
I shaded the nail using a 2B pencil.
Step 6
I shaded the hammer and the shadow using a 2B pencil.
