The Dairy Game: A Fun Day Watching The Atumpi, Ogbula Ogbubu and Nmongwe Masquerade [ 05-10-2026].

Good day guys, welcome to this episode of my dairy session @Somnma. Today was one of those days I had really been looking forward to because there was going to be a masquerade display around my area. I was so excited because I don't get to see this kind of thing every day.

My day started normally. I woke up and did my morning chores before preparing breakfast. I decided to make pap and eat it with bread and akara which i bought. First, I added a little water to the pap and stirred it properly before adding hot water. At first, I was scared because it looked like the pap was becoming too watery. But suprisingly it started getting thick, and I was so happy. Getting pap to have the right consistency can actually be hectic sometimes for me.

After I finished making it, I took my bread and enjoyed my breakfast before getting ready for work. I got to work and one of my colleagues was already there. Another colleague of mine who lives far away also came later. Since there wasn't really much work at the shop, I spent some time on my phone.

Around 4 p.m, we decided to go and watch the masquerade in my area, we call them Atumpki, Nmongwe and Ogbula Ogbubu. The masquerade named Ogbula Ogbubu is known for chasing people, especially men. When it catches someone, it uses sand to rub on their body before leaving to look for another person to chase. The masquerade named Nmongwe is known for playing with children.

The funniest part was seeing the guys run whenever they noticed the masquerade coming in their direction. Some of them would even ran straight towards where we were standing. There are people who usually drum and follow the masquerade around while other dance. I just stayed there watching and enjoying the whole thing.

When I came back home, I made sure to lock the doors, windows, and gate properly because I have become more security conscious these days. There have been so many stories of thieves breaking into houses.

For dinner, I warmed the leftover soup we had at home, then I bought fufu which I used to eat my soup. It was honestly a simple but really fun day, and I'm glad I got to experience it.
