SVM Testnet Update: Post-Deployment Stability, Liquidity Pools Live, and Frontend Preview

in Steem Dev4 days ago

Hi everyone,

Following the successful deployment of the 28 Sherpa Protocol contracts and the launch of the Blockscout explorer, I am pleased to report that the Steem Virtual Machine (SVM) testnet is operating flawlessly.

All post-deployment health checks have passed, the smart contracts are interacting seamlessly with the validator-run price oracles, and the network remains in a state of perfect stability.

Network Health and Current Metrics

The SVM testnet continues to demonstrate exceptional reliability and growing utility. The transition to a pure fee-market model (following our 0% inflation governance proposal) is proving highly effective, as evidenced by the organic generation of transaction fees from real network activity.

Current Testnet Statistics:

  • Total Blocks Produced: 364,052+
  • Total Transactions: 13,167
  • Chain-Wide Transaction Fees Generated: 380.052397 STEEM
  • Active Validators: 11 / 12

Generating over 380 STEEM in chain-wide transaction fees on a testnet is a strong validation of our economic model. It proves that the network is being actively used for meaningful operations, such as contract deployments, oracle attestations, and DeFi interactions, rather than just idle block production.

Sherpa Protocol: Liquidity Pools Are Live

With the core contracts deployed and verified, the decentralized finance layer of SVM is now fully functional.

The Sherpa Protocol liquidity pools are officially initialized and listed. Developers, validators, and community members can now view the active pools, track liquidity depth, and monitor trading activity directly on the SVM Scan explorer.

This marks a critical milestone: the SVM is no longer just an EVM-compatible sidechain; it is an active, functioning DeFi environment with real liquidity mechanics and oracle-backed pricing.

Next Steps: Frontend Deployment Tomorrow

With the smart contracts verified, the oracles feeding data correctly, and the liquidity pools initialized, the foundational backend is complete.

The final piece of the puzzle is the user experience. I will be deploying the new SVM App frontend tomorrow.

This new interface will provide a streamlined, intuitive way for users to interact with the Sherpa Protocol. It will allow you to:

  • Connect your EVM-compatible wallets seamlessly.
  • Wrap and unwrap STEEM to wSTEEM.
  • View and interact with active liquidity pools.
  • Monitor your positions and transaction history without needing to write raw contract calls or navigate block explorers manually.

Testnet Disclaimer

Important Reminder: The Steem Virtual Machine (SVM) is strictly in its testnet phase. All bonded STEEM, transactions executed, and tokens generated are purely for testing the consensus and EVM execution layers. There is no real-world monetary value attached to this chain or its assets.

Reaching over 364,000 blocks with this level of functional activity is a massive achievement. Thank you to our 11 active validators for maintaining excellent uptime, ensuring the oracle data remains accurate, and keeping the foundation solid as we build out this ecosystem.
