SVM Testnet Update: Frontend Development Progress and Successful Swap Testing

in Steem Dev20 hours ago

Hi everyone,

Following the successful deployment of the 28 Sherpa Protocol contracts and the initialization of our liquidity pools, my primary development focus has shifted to the user-facing layer of the ecosystem.

I am pleased to report that the smart contracts are performing flawlessly on-chain, and the new SVM App frontend is rapidly taking shape.

Contract Testing and On-Chain Validation

Before integrating the user interface, it was critical to ensure the underlying mechanics were robust. I have personally conducted several test swaps, liquidity provision interactions, and oracle price feed queries directly on the network.

The results are highly encouraging:

  • The wSTEEM wrap/unwrap mechanism is executing seamlessly.
  • The SherpaOracle is successfully feeding accurate, real-time price data to the smart contracts.
  • The LendingPool and VaultManager contracts are processing transactions with zero errors or state anomalies.

The foundational DeFi layer of SVM is fully operational and ready for user interaction.

SVM App Frontend Preview

To make these powerful DeFi primitives accessible to the broader STEEM community, we are building a clean, intuitive, and enterprise-grade frontend. Below is a preview of the key interfaces currently under active development and testing.

1. SVM App Dashboard

The central hub for the application, providing a high-level overview of the ecosystem, total value locked (TVL), and quick navigation to core features.

2. Swap Page

A streamlined interface for swapping between STEEM, wSTEEM, sUSD, and other supported assets. It integrates directly with the SherpaOracle to ensure users receive fair, slippage-protected pricing.

3. Liquidity Pools (LP) Page

This page allows users to view all active liquidity pools, check current APYs, and add or remove liquidity with a few clicks. It pulls real-time data directly from the on-chain pool contracts.

4. Farms Page

For users looking to maximize their yield, the Farms page will display active staking and farming opportunities, allowing users to stake their LP tokens and earn SHERPA governance rewards.

5. Wallet Page

A secure and seamless wallet experience, supporting major EVM-compatible wallets (such as MetaMask) to ensure smooth onboarding for both existing STEEM users and broader Web3 participants.

Next Steps

The backend is solid, the contracts are verified, and the frontend is coming together beautifully. My immediate next steps are:

  1. UI/UX Polishing: Refining the visual design and ensuring a smooth, responsive experience across all device sizes.
  2. Real-Time Data Integration: Connecting the frontend components to the Blockscout API and SVM RPC nodes for live balance updates and transaction confirmations.
  3. Internal Beta Testing: Conducting a final round of end-to-end testing to ensure every button, modal, and transaction flow works perfectly before the public release.

I will share the official link to the new SVM App as soon as it is ready for public testing.

Testnet Disclaimer

Important Reminder: The Steem Virtual Machine (SVM) is strictly in its testnet phase. All bonded STEEM, transactions executed, and tokens generated are purely for testing the consensus and EVM execution layers. There is no real-world monetary value attached to this chain or its assets.

Thank you to our active validators for maintaining the network's stability, which makes this rapid iteration and testing possible. We are building something truly transformative for the STEEM ecosystem, and I appreciate your continued support and patience.
