SVM Testnet Update: 660K+ Blocks Reached and 100% Validator Uptime Achieved
Hi everyone,
Following the successful execution and stabilization of the v0.0.5 coordinated upgrade, I am thrilled to report that the Steem Virtual Machine (SVM) testnet has reached a new peak in operational health.
The network is running flawlessly, and we have achieved a major milestone in our decentralized infrastructure: full validator participation.
Network Health and Current Metrics
The SVM testnet continues to demonstrate exceptional reliability and consistent growth. The new Steem-identity enforcement rules are active across all validator creation routes, and the EVM staking precompile is fully restored and functioning correctly for MetaMask users.
Current Testnet Statistics:
- Total Blocks Produced: 660,736+
- Total Transactions: 44,051+
- Average Block Time: ~5.5 seconds
- Active Validators: 11 / 11 (100% Online)
Validator Milestone: Full Network Restoration
I want to extend a special acknowledgment to @steem-agora for successfully updating their node, syncing to the latest chain state, and unjailing their validator.
This brings our active validator set back to 100% capacity. Achieving full participation post-upgrade is a significant achievement. It validates the effectiveness of the automated ./update.sh recovery workflow and highlights the strong commitment of our node operators to maintaining a secure, decentralized, and highly available network.
With all 11 validators actively processing consensus duties, bridge attestations, and oracle price feeds, the SVM testnet is operating at maximum fault tolerance and efficiency.
Looking Ahead: SVM App and Sherpa Protocol
With the v0.0.5 upgrade fully stabilized, the network foundation is more secure and robust than ever. The 1 gwei gas floor is actively burning fees, validator identities are strictly hardened, and our oracle infrastructure is running cleanly without spam.
This level of stability is the exact prerequisite we needed for our next major phase: the public beta release of the SVM App and the expanded testing of the Sherpa Protocol DeFi suite.
We are currently putting the final touches on the user interface, ensuring seamless wallet connections, real-time data fetching from our dual-indexers, and an intuitive experience for swaps and liquidity provision. An official announcement with access details will be shared very soon.
Testnet Disclaimer
Important Reminder: The Steem Virtual Machine (SVM) is strictly in its testnet phase. All bonded STEEM, transactions executed, and tokens generated are purely for testing the consensus and EVM execution layers. There is no real-world monetary value attached to this chain or its assets.
Reaching over 660,000 blocks with 100% validator uptime is a massive milestone for the project. Thank you to all 11 operators for your diligence, transparency, and unwavering commitment to maintaining a robust SVM network.
