Maybe you're not behind
Have you ever looked at someone your age and wondered what you were doing with your own life?
Someone is making money, someone is travelling, someone is building a business, and someone else seems to have everything figured out. Meanwhile, you're still trying to understand your own journey.
Honestly, that feeling can hurt.
Sometimes, you start questioning yourself. You wonder if you're wasting time or if you've missed an opportunity that everybody else seems to have found.
But here's something I've been thinking about: what if we're so busy watching other people's progress that we forget to work on our own?
Life isn't a race where everybody must reach the same destination at the same time. Some people find their direction early. Others need a few wrong turns before they discover what works for them.
And that's okay.
You might not have the money you want yet. You might still be learning a skill, trying to improve yourself, or figuring out what you really want. That doesn't mean your life is going nowhere.
However, there's something important to remember: growing at your own pace doesn't mean refusing to grow. You still have to make an effort, learn from your mistakes, and take opportunities when they come.
Don't spend so much time wishing you had somebody else's life that you neglect the one you're building.
Celebrate other people's success. Learn from them if you can. But when you put your phone down, return to your own goals.
You don't need to have everything figured out today. You just need to keep moving, even if your progress is small.
One day, you might look back and realise that the season you thought was wasted was actually teaching you something important.
Have you ever felt like you were falling behind in life because of what you saw other people achieving? How did you handle it?
I'd love to read your thoughts in the comments.
