Assalamu Alaikum

How are you? By Allah's grace, I'm doing very well.

Thumbline

Today, I am going to share a different kind of artwork with you. The subject of this piece is someone you might all recognize—Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela. She is incredibly beautiful and striking. I have attempted to capture her likeness, including the outfit she wore—an ensemble she donned for a modeling event. In the original look, she wore wings, but they were quite small; I decided to replace them entirely with wings resembling those of an eagle, which I think looks much better. The original wings were so small that they only reached from her back to the level of her head—not particularly attractive or eye-catching. In short, while I used her as a reference, I’ve incorporated some creative changes of my own. I’ve designed the wings to be as tall as she is, whereas the original ones were quite tiny. Without further ado, let’s get started!

Step 1

Before beginning the final artwork, I created a preliminary sketch, which will be a great help for the subsequent steps. I should mention that I’ve included knees in the sketch—even though they won’t be visible in the final piece—simply because it helps me gauge exactly how much fabric is needed for the outfit.

Step 2

In the second step, I remove any unnecessary sketch lines and go over the essential outlines using a thick black brush to make them stand out.

Step 3

Now it’s time for coloring. In this step, I’ve colored the fabric red and applied a brown tone to the wings.

Step 4

In the fourth step, I’ve colored the hair brown and matched the skin tone with the color used for the wings—though I will refine these colors further in the final step. Also, in this stage, I’ve applied a dark red shade to the clothing.

Step 5

In the fifth and final step, I’ve deepened the colors—essentially darkening the areas where the initial, preliminary colors were applied. I’ve also added shadows behind the wings, which makes the piece look more beautiful and realistic. Today's discussion concludes here. I hope you've found it interesting. Please share your thoughts on today's topic. Prayers for everyone. May everyone be well. Amen.
